Ok. So it would be fitting for me to write a comment to this article since I am part of SETA. First glance, it seemed a bit silly. I mean, I love animals and have been the caretaker of many fish; unfortunately, I was not a good caretaker of many fish. However, my fish would usually die of some inane cause such as the water after cleaning not being exactly correct. Or they could die from stress caused by the evil bigger fish... he lived for about a year and a half.
However, before I get all treehugger on all of you, pouring bleach into an aquarium? who does this?!?!?! Yes, she got into an arguement with her husband, but were the fish in her line of fire or something? Plus, those fish must have cost well over $200 dollars, so was this a malicious slash towards her husband?
Even if those fish have five second memories, imagine having to sit there with no place to go and bleach slowly blinding your eyes and filling up your insides. What a sad way to get revenge, lady.

Evans told me about this story last night and it was disturbing enough to cause me to have a nightmare about it. I am the proud owner of one fabulous Betta fish (aka a Siamese fighting fish) with whom I have a very strong attachment. So after I heard about this story I dreamt that someone broke the glass water pitcher that he lives in and I had no other water to put him in.
It was awful, so I imagine it would be awful to have to watch your fish be slowly poisened to death while there's nothing you can do. I'm sure this guy was crazy about his pets because who in their right mind would spend so much money on fish. It was totally unfair for that woman to take out her anger on poor defenseless animals. Seriously, she needs some sort of mental help because that's the sort of thing that serial killers do as kids.
