Desperation?
With the Dodgers trailing 4-0 in the fourth inning, Grady Little opted let pitcher Greg Maddux bat to lead off the inning.
OK, I could understand of Maddux was pitching well and still trailing, but the Mets have plastered him with seven hits. He hasn't fooled anyone.
Why keep him in the game _ and give away an out _ right there? Pinch hit for him and bring another pitcher in.
