Jon Jones calls out Chael Sonnen on Twitter

Things just got real in the UFC light heavyweight division.

Former middleweight contender Chael Sonnen (@sonnench), who has now moved up to the 205-pound division, posted the following on Twitter today:

Get a Cage Fitness home training kit in the next 24 hours and get a call from yours truly!Enter code Chael at checkout.

Light heavyweight champion Jon “Bones” Jones (@jonnybones) followed up with a series of tweets:

the things you say about me hold absolutely no weight, you disrespected Anderson and his country but fought like a child.
If you’re going to disrespect me out of nowhere, at least disrespect me to my face like a man.
and you call me a punk, I’m more man than you’ll ever be. #Coward #Cheater

Jones’ claims of cheater are no doubt in reference to Sonnen being suspended for testing positive for a higher-than-accepted testosterone ratio. Sonnen has since claimed testosterone replacement therapy, and the Nevada State Athletic Commission has given him an exemption.

Jones defends his title against Dan Henderson at UFC 151 on Sept. 1 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. Sonnen will face Forrest Griffin on Dec. 29 in Las Vegas.

But here’s to hoping we get to see Jones and Sonnen sometime next year. That fight would do some incredible numbers.

UPDATE …
Sonnen just replied and alluded to Jones’ DUI arrest May 19 in which he crashed his Bentley into a pole:

Boarding plane to Oregon now, home of your corporate wage masters. Next time you are in town, knock on my door. Don’t drive.

Jones pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated in June and was recently given another postponement of his sentencing after in order to complete his drug and alcohol abuse program.

And Jones clearly was not impressed with Sonnen’s response:

lol you’re an idiot if you think I haven’t heard every dui joke in the book. I applaud original ones, that’s powerless

Jason “Mayhem” Miller arrested after found naked in church

MISSION VIEJO, Calif.(AP) — Mixed martial arts fighter and reality show host Jason “Mayhem” Miller was in jail on suspicion of burglary Monday night after deputies responding to reports of a break-in said they found him naked inside a Southern California church.

Miller was being held on $20,000 bail and was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday, Orange County jail records showed.

The pastor at Mission Hills Church in Mission Viejo called authorities when he found evidence of a break-in Monday morning, including books and CDs that were strewn about, white powder on the floors and missing boards from a previously broken window, sheriff’s spokesman Jim Amormino said.

Deputies arrived and said they found Miller naked on a couch.

“When they asked him his name he responded, ‘Mayhem,’ ” Amormino told the Orange County Register.

They also found evidence that Miller had set off fire extinguishers inside the church, Amormino said. Miller was coherent and cooperated with authorities as he was arrested.

Deputies did not know if Miller had hired an attorney, and phone listings for Miller or a representative could not be found. A message left on his official Facebook page was not immediately returned.

Miller, a popular professional middleweight in the mixed martial arts world, has fought for several organizations including UFC, but has lost three of eight fights.

He also hosted the MTV show “Bully Beatdown,” a reality show where bullies are challenged to take on professional MMA fighters for a chance to win money.

Before his last fight on May 27, Miller said he would retire if he was defeated, and went on to lose a lackluster decision to C.B. Dollaway
