What was that again? The "Twilight" director not coming back? I'm talking about Catherine Hardwicke, the holder of the record for the single highest grossing opening movie by a solo female director. Word has it that she is not going to be back to direct the sequel to "Twilight."I thought when you did something super successful in Hollywood the natural thing is that you would be back for the follow-up.
OK, that didn't work out for Terrence Howard. (Don Cheadle slipped into the "Iron Man 2" role of Jim Rhodes.)
According to the article Hardwicke was reached for comment by Variety.
"I am sorry that due to timing I will not have the opportunity to direct New Moon," said Hardwicke. "Directing Twilight has been one of the great experiences of my life, and I am grateful to the fans for their passionate support of the film. I wish everyone at Summit the best with the sequel--it is a great story."As it is with stories that break like this during the weekend, expect more on this as the day progresses. We'll have more later.
