graveyard.jpgWriter Neil Gaiman and artist Dave McKean have won the 2009 Newbery Medal for their work on The Graveyard Book. It was announced today and the crew at Robot 6 have a post with more details -- including a humorous Twitter response to the news from Neil Gaiman.

Those of us who were book-pushers at Barnes or Borders or whatever, have long known how talented Gaiman and McKean are... and how cool it is to see books in the young readers section bear that Newbery Medal for children literary excellence.

Congratulations to them both.

Edited for Robert's poor spelling of "Newbery" for gosh-sakes!
