In its second week of release the following installment of the the "Twilight" vampire saga, "New Moon" pulled in more than $42.9 million last weekend bringing its total domestic gross to almost $231 million.
The romantic-adventure film, based on the book series by author Stephenie Meyer, didn't have an easy go taking the top spot last weekend. The Sandra Bullock picture, "The Blind Side" continued to resonate with audiences and earned about $40 million for a total of $100 million in its second week of release.
"Ninja Assassin" (I didn't get to see it this week) brought in $13 million while "The Road," which was in limited release in about 111 locations, made $1.5 million.
