281x211.jpgHave a question for "Avatar" director James Cameron and stars Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana?

MTV will partner with Facebook to host "Avatar Live: An MTV News/Facebook Forum" this Thursday Dec. 3 at 3 p.m. Eastern (12 p.m. our time).

Participants in the live-chat will have the chance to get their questions answered by the stars and director for 30 minutes and see some exclusive footage from "Avatar."  MTV News' Josh Horowitz will lead the Q&A.

Sometimes these events don't last long enough and there are not enough good questions answered.  When Cameron and Peter Jackson ("Lord of the Rings," "The Lovely Bones") were onstage together at the San Diego Comic-Con this year, the event lasted more than an hour and there were some interesting insights from both creators on digital/film, effects and writing.

No preemptive smack down on MTV, just hoping for the sake of Cameron fans that this one is just as informative and fun.

Entertainment Weekly has video of that Comic-Con event.

"Avatar" opens Dec. 18.

Note: Revised to add 'Facebook' to headline.
