Yeah, I'm dating myself and showing my video game illiteracy but I swear these games are becoming more and more like major motion pictures that the viewer can control. The most successful games make tons in sales and have sequels, spinoffs -- all that.
Apparently audiences prefer that entertainment control. In 2008 video game systems sold to consumers to the tune of $21 billion. Movie ticket sales for that same year were estimated at $9.6 billion.
I suppose it's as co-host Morgan Webb said, "when you go to the movie you want that experience and you don't anymore because you know they're gonna screw it up."
She said it, I didn't.
