Ah, there was a time long ago when the major talents were not so exclusive to one of the big two comics companies. Of course, then came the contracts and we would be left to our imaginations when it came to seeing something like Batman illustrated by former Marvel-exclusive artist David Finch.
Imagine no more.
The DC Comics Source blog posted this cover by Finch and what appears to be inks by Scott Williams. If you go here you can see the pencils.
If you haven't been reading Batman then you may or may not know that Dick Grayson has been wearing the cowl. My question is whether this is an image of Bruce Wayne or Grayson?

That cover immediately joined the "Batman images that get me a bit too excited" list. Jim Lee will always be by go-to guy for Batman pencils, but bravo to David Finch. Incidentally, Scott Williams has got a great gig, getting to ink for both David Finch and Jim Lee.
Aside from his awesome pencils, the best part of assigning Finch all of these covers is there's less of a chance Alex Ross will get the job :-)
And judging by the gloves/gauntlets, that's Dick Grayson under the cowl.
Of course, I should have seen the gauntlet! Thanks, Cody!
I met Finch at the wizard con in Long Beach years ago. Really nice guy and too bad he got stuck with such a crappy writer for Moon Knight. That series had potential that was wasted. Maybe this series will be better, and oh, great sketch. Thanks!
