Days like Free Comic Book Day should happen more often

DSCN0031.jpgIs there any way to make Free Comic Book Day happen every month?

Sure, not every retailer is going to have the resources to give away free comics every day, but that's not what I mean.  On the first Saturday in May every year I visit a few comic stores to see what's happening for the blog, but also, for myself.

Naturally, most retailers know there's more to this than giving away the books.  It's an opportunity to offer sales merchandise, raise money for charity, provide a home for heroic cosplayers (besides Hollywood Boulevard) and fellowship with other fans.

It's like a block party for comic book readers and the party happens at just about every store near you -- once a year.  Can we do something about that?

Enjoy these pics from 2010 Free Comic Book Day.
