The concept of the Drive-In movie is still alive even when the film is about funny dead people."Beetlejuice" starring Michael Keaton, Alec Baldwin and Winona Ryder will screen Saturday Oct. 1 in downtown Long Beach at the historic former site of the Press-Telegram newspaper.
The Downtown Drive In screening is presented by Long Beach Cinematheque in association with Hollywood Outdoor Movies and Lunch Truck It
Tickets are $10 per person and $5 for LB Cinematheque members at the gate (CASH ONLY). Children 13 and younger are admitted free. Gate opens at 6:30 p.m. and the movie starts at 8 p.m.
It's a Drive-In style screening but guests on foot are welcome too (even if they don't want to stay for the show and just order food) and they should bring their outdoor clothing and an appetite because sponsor Lunch Truck It will have food trucks with grub from Slapfish and Global Soul.
Guests coming to order food and hit the road are admitted free.
The Historic Press-Telegram is located 604 Pine Ave. in Long Beach, CA. (MAP)
