Montclair 2009 Woman of the Year
Assistant Director of Human Services Marcia Richter was honored at a luncheon by Senator Gloria McLeod and Assembly Members Norma J. Torres and Wilmer Amina Carter as the Montclair 2009 Woman of the Year.
Nominations for this honor were solicited by Senator McLeod's office, and Marcia was nominated by Mayor Paul Eaton.
Unfortunately, Mayor Paul Eaton could not attend the luncheon on March 13 because he was in Washington, D.C. for the Congressional Cities Conference, Mayor Pro Tem John Dutrey presented Marcia with a Certificate of Recognition of the Mayor's behalf.
Human Services Division staff also attended the luncheon, which was held at Carpenter's Hall in Ontario.
Marcia was selected as Montclair's honoree because of her service to the community over the past 23 years.
Her work with the Montclair Medical Clinic, Por La Vida, holiday toy and food basket program, and Easter Egg Hunt were some of the highlights of her City work; plus her volunteer work of more than 20 years with the Montclair-Ontario Junior Women's Club.
