Monte Vista Water District Employee of the Year
MONTCLAIR -- Todd Paxson of Yucaipa was named the "2008 Monte Vista Water District Employee of the Year," and six employees were recognized for a collective 85 years of service at the District's annual employee awards event held recently.
Paxson, a utility crew leader, has been employed at the District since 2005, beginning his tenure as a utility service worker. He was promoted to his current position in 2007.
He holds a Water Distribution II certificate.
Co-workers, who nominated him for the award, described Paxson as "having a great work ethic, work habits and outlook; an outstanding, loyal employee who is a pleasure to work with; communicates well and is always willing to give of his time to help out; a fun person and great teacher."
Special recognition was given to the following employees for their years of service to the District:
- Barry Rowley of Montclair, Field Service Supervisor, 30 years
- Russell Gray of Rancho Cucamonga, Maintenance Superintendent, 25 years
- Mary Ann Melleby of Banning, Public Affairs Director, 10 years
- Mark Kinsey of Wrightwood, General Manager, 10 years
- Patrick Jones of Fontana, Utility Crew Leader, 5 years
- Ed Campos of Chino, Senior Utility Coordinator/Inspector, 5 years
Sandra Rose, president of the board of directors. A luncheon, attended by employees and members of the District's Board of Directors, was held at the District and featured a sports challenge theme.
