A book of lamest fast words

| | Comments (0) |

Milton Berle.jpgSomething called "The Gigantic Book of Running Quotations" (Skyhorse Publishing, $24.95) arrived at the office, hoping for a review. At nearly 800 pages, the book looks like a marathon in itself. Turns out most of what's said about running is pretty, well, pedestrian.

I did find a few good ones in here:

Joan Rivers: "The first time I see a jogger smiling, I'll consider it."

Martin Mull: "The trouble with jogging is that the ice falls out of your glass."

Milton Berle: "My doctor recently told me that jogging could add years to my life. I think he was right. I feel 10 years older already."

About this blog

Kevin Modesti watches sports from a new angle since his promotion from sports columnist to sports editor for the Los Angeles Newspaper Group. In his new blog, Modesti not only comments on the big sports stories of the moment-- he talks about what makes them big. Think of it as a conversation with readers about how these stories should be covered.
