UCLA opens their season Sept. 4 against national champions Maryland.
The Bruins return eight starters from last season's Pac-10 Championship squad including 2008 Pac-10 Player of the Year and U.S. Under-20 National Team player Michael Stephens, U.S. Under-20 National Team starting goalkeeper Brian Perk and 2007 MVP Kyle Nakazawa of Palos Verdes Estates.

Pepperdine Coach Tim Ward announced the addition of three more players to his 2009 roster: midfielder Jenny Karson from Frazier Park in the far reaches of Ventura County, striker Kasey Kanada from Oregon and forward Terah Parker of Houston.
The Waves have 10 freshmen and 17 veterans heading into preseason training camp.
