The annual wildflower show and festival will feature watercolor artist Phyllis Case Bennett at the Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden.

The two-day show takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the garden, 

Bennett has 28 years of experience in Chinese Brush painting and watercolor. She is a member of Pomona Valley Art Association, The Sumie Society of America, Inc., the Yuan Chinese Brush Painting Association and a Signature Member of WatercolorWest, according to a botanic garden news release.

The garden is at 1500 N. College Ave.

Admission is $8 general, $6 for seniors age 65 and up and $6 for students age 13 to 17 or full-time college students ; $4 youths age 3 to 12 and children under age 3 are free.

5K Walk on the Wild Side

will take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday March 28 at the Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden.

The Garden is at 1500 N. College Ave.

The botanic garden and the Claremont Chapter of the American Red Cross will hold a safety, emergency preparedness and health expo.

New Grow Native Nursery

The new nursery is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday with proceeds going to botanic garden programs.

The nursery is located east of the general parking lot and is free to enter.

The poor economy is a primary reason for the change, said spokeswoman Ann Joslin.

Admission would be $8 adults; $6 seniors age 65 and older; $6 students age 13 to 17 or full-time college students; $4 per child age 3 to 12; free children under free; members free.

The garden moved to Claremont in 1951.

Jewelry designers Cathy McNassor and Jackie Mixon will host a trunk show inolving their pieces that use glass and lamp worked beads.

Santa Claus will be at the event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Holiday shopping can be enjoyed at the California Garden Shop where purchases support the garden.
