A body was found this morning on the beach or in the water at Hermosa Beach.
I'm waiting for information from the PD and will publish it when I get it.

Whale watchers on a boat a quarter-mile off Redondo Beach spotted the body.
Her name is Cindy Denq, 39, of El Monte.
Police said their preliminary work indicates this was a suicide. They could not find that she jumped from a boat. She either entered the water from the beach or leaped from the rocks.
Nearly 100 people were aboard the boat, Voyager, at the time, including many children. More on this in a second.
Redondo Beach Harbor Patrol officers pulled the body from the water onto their boat and performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation, but she was already dead.
They returned her to the Redondo Beach marina, where paramedics confirmed she had no vital signs.
According to police, Denq was plucked from the water on Feb. 23, when she jumped from the Voyager. The Voyager circled around and people pulled her back onto the boat. They called police, but the woman denied that she tried to commit suicide.
There is no indication that she jumped from the Voyager today, but it's interesting that people aboard the boat found her.
The woman found dead in the water off White Point in San Pedro on Tuesday committed suicide, police said today.
The Torrance woman left a note with her family. Police said she walked into the water and drowned herself.
Her car was located nearby. She had suffered from depression and had been reported missing to the Torrance Police Department.
I check every day with the coroner's office for updates on the body found in a Hawthorne SUV
on Aug. 27.
So far, there aren't any. The coroner's office told me today that the man has been identified by fingerprints. He was a 42-year-old white man. Coroner's officials are searching for his next of kin, so his name has not been released.
Previously I reported that he was shot in the back.
The body was found parked outside a Hawthorne church at 118th Place and Felton Avenue. It had been there about a day and was decomposing.

I previously reported that the Chevrolet Silverado was registered to Mark Lawton Wanamaker, but I haven't found any record of a man matching that age. I found one who was 47 with addresses in Santa Rosa and Redondo Beach, but that apparently must be a different man.
Coroner's officials examined the body of the man found in a pickup truck parked outside a
Hawthorne church yesterday and have determined him to be a homicide victim.
The cause of death is "Gunshot wound of back," according to Chief Coroner Investigator Craig Harvey.
The victim, who was decomposing, has not been identified. He is white and believed to be in his 40s. The man is currently listed as John Doe No. 171.
I ran the license plate number of the 2006 Chevrolet Silverado yesterday. The DMV told me the vehicle is registered to Mark Lawton Wanamaker. A records search found a 47-year-old man with that name with an address in Santa Rosa, and previous addresses in Redondo Beach and San Pedro. I have no other information than that, and don't know whether he is the victim.
Sheriff's detectives have put out no further information today on the case and haven't returned my messages.

Police and firefighters responded to the truck at 118th Place and Felton Avenue about 1 p.m. when neighbors detected an odor. A male victim was in the back seat. His body was decomposing.
A witness said he's in shorts and a shirt.
Police believe the truck was parked there for a day. The name of the victim wasn't immediately known. Sheriff's Department homicide detectives were on their way to the scene to assist Hawthorne police with the investigation.
I ran the license plate and came up with the name of the truck's registered owner, but can't say whether that man was the victim inside the truck.
We'll have more tomorrow. The investigation and crime scene evidence collection should take hours, unless the coroner allows police to tow the vehicle away for forensic investigation elsewhere.

A decomposed body was discovered a few minutes ago in a truck parked near a church in the 11800 block of Felton Avenue in Hawthorne.
The Sheriff's Department is on its way to investigate, along with Hawthorne PD.
I'm told the car, a black pickup truck, was reported missing recently in Orange County. So far, they don't know whether the body is male or female.
We'll have more later.

A woman who died aboard a flight from Los Angeles International Airport to Atlanta early Wednesday was from Ventura.
Michaele O'Neil Carnahan, 61, was discovered in the restroom aboard Delta flight 950, authorities said.
Carnahan was on her way to a wedding in Florida, said John Bankhead, a spokesman for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
"She was found deceased inside the restroom and there was a physician on the plane who pronounced her dead when they got to her," Bankhead said.
An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.
Bankhead said there was nothing to indicate foul play.
"Everything points to natural," he said.

Teenagers skateboarding near an abandoned house in Beverly Hills made a startling discovery last week when they detected a foul stench coming from the residence.
They roamed inside the house and discovered a mummified body lying in a fetal position, the Beverly Hills Weekly reported in today's edition.
Police told the paper they believe the man was dead for a year. He appeared to be white and in his 40s or 50s. They think he was homeless because they found an assortment of old bags and an old bicycle near him.
The cause of death wasn't immediately known, but foul play was not suspected, police said.
The property owner hadn't been at the house for a long time, the paper said.
