YUCAIPA - Auditions for the beloved musical, "Oliver!", the stage version of Charles Dickens' Oliver Twist, will be held June 1 and 2, 7 - 9 p.m. at the Yucaipa Little Theater, 12135 California Street, Yucaipa, CA 92399.

Oliver! is the timeless story of a plucky young orphan and his quest for love and happiness in a world populated by rascals, rogues and thieves. Some well-known songs featured include "Consider Yourself," "Where is Love?" and "I'd Do Anything."

Parts for the show range from young actors 7 years of age and older, as well as several male and female adult roles. Please come to the audition prepared to sing a cappella musical selection of your choice.

Oliver! will run on the Yucaipa Little Theatre stage from July 23 to August 9.

YUCAIPA - Two of Disney's treasured critter adventures hit the Yucaipa Little Theatre stage with two one-act musicals, "The Aristocats" and "101 Dalmatians."

The Aristocats are pampered felines Duchess, Toulouse, Beriloz and Marie. They are living the good life in Paris with their Madame until Edna, the maid, finds out that Madame is leaving all her wealth to the Aristocats. Edna kidnaps the Aristocats and leaves them in the countryside.

Roguefort, the mouse sees all. With the help of Thomas O'Malley and his cat possie, along with Abigail and Amelia the Geese, the Aristocats find their way back home, but for how long?

"The Aristocats" features music and lyrics by Mack David, Al Hoffman, Jerry Livingston and is based on the screenplay by Ken Anderson and Homer Brightman.

The casts for both shows are all children, ranging in age from 5 - 18, many of whom are first-time performers from Yucaipa, Calimesa, and the surrounding area.

YUCAIPA - Auditions for the Tony-Award winning Broadway musical "Camelot," the
story of a young king, his beautiful wife, and a love-struck knight, will be held at Yucaipa Little Theatre on Mon., April 6 and Tues., April 7 at 7 p.m.

A favorite of late President John F. Kennedy and an indisputable hit
on stage, "Camelot" is the timeless story about the rise and fall of a
great kingdom. Arthur, king of the England, has gathered the best
knights in the world at his famed round table.

YUCAIPA - Neil Simon's "The Odd Couple," a smart adult comedy about two polar opposites, Felix Unger and Oscar Madison, struggling to get through their lives together runs for one weekend only, Feb. 27, 28 and March 1, at the Yucaipa Little Theatre.

The three act classic opens with the nightly poker game at Oscar's comfortably messy home with the usual suspects - his mismatched group of poker buddies.The evening takes a turn for the bizarre when Felix shows up bearing bad news and thoughts of suicide. When Oscar takes Felix in, a farce of comical proportions ensues.

YUCAIPA - Acclaimed composers Richard Rogers & Oscar Hammerstein's enchanting musical "Cinderella" opened at the Yucaipa Little Theatre February 5, playing to nearly sold out crowds the first two weekends.

Over thirty cast members have been hard at work for two months creating an entertaining presentation of the timeless story of a young girl, her wicked family, a charming prince and impossible dreams coming true.

"This cast is imaginative and playful, raising the bar on their performances with each rehearsal. Audience members, from 8 to 80, will have a great time watching the fun," said Christine Presley, director.

The timeless love story of "Aida" runs one more weekend at the Yucaipa Little
Theatre on October 10, 11, and 12.

YUCAIPA - The musical is based on Giuseppe Verdi's classic opera and fused with contemporary sounds borrowed from reggae, Motown, gospel, and the international beats of Africa, India, and the Middle East. Aida is an enslaved Nubian princess who falls in love with Radames, an Egyptian army captain. However, he is engaged to Amneris, the daughter of the Pharaoh. Although Radames wants to be loyal to Amneris, he begins to feel for Aida in return. Aida resists their forbidden love because she knows her ultimate duty is to her people, the Nubians.

Yucaipa Little Theater will open with "Aida, The Timeless Love Story" on Sept. 25, 26, and 27 at 7:30 p.m.

Other performance dates include Oct. 3, 4, 10, and 11 at 7:30 p.m. And Sept. 28, Oct. 5 and 12 at 3:30 p.m.
