The community meeting will be held Thursday from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Ruble Middle School, 6762 Juniper Avenue.

For nearly a decade, the Fontana Police Department, City Council and city staff have provided Fontana residents with direct information concerning construction, area specific crime, landscaping projects and community events. 

 

The meetings are offered in seven different locations throughout the city and are often attended by residents wanting information about issues directly related to the areas surrounding their immediate environment.

 

Citizens are given an opportunity to ask questions and receive answers all in one evening and meetings often include presentations.

A community meeting is scheduled Thursday for residents living in the central areas between the 210 Freeway south to Foothill Boulevard.


The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. at Solorio Elementary, 15172 Walnut St.


City staff will be on hand to answer questions and provide information about upcoming events or projects.


Residents will be given a presentation on Graffiti Tracker. Since the implementation of the program in August, information from the program has led to several arrests.

The meeting is at 6:30 p.m.on Jan. 15, at Southridge Middle School, 14500 Live Oak Ave.

 The Mayor and City Council invite the public to the quarterly neighborhood meetings in Fontana. Three area neighborhood meetings will be offered in November. 


On Tuesday, November 4 at 6:30 pm residents from Area 3, (Central Area) will meet at First Baptist Church, located at 17244 Randall Avenue. On Thursday, November 6 at 6:30 pm, residents from Area 2 East (Walnut Village) will meet at Ruble Middle School, located at 6762 Juniper Avenue. On Thursday, November 20, residents from Area 2 West, (the Village of Heritage) will meet at the Heritage Neighborhood Center, located at 7350 W. Liberty Parkway.


During the last seven years, the City of Fontana has made quarterly meetings available for residents in all areas of the city. The goal of the meetings are to inform the public of citywide information as well as report local information that addresses specific neighborhoods. Topics of discussion at area meetings often include local crime, streets, construction, development, and special events. 


Special presentations are often provided at the meetings. In November, representatives from the new Jessie Turner Health and Fitness Community Center in Fontana Park will speak about the new facility programming.  A representative from the Fontana Police Department will also discuss the new Graffiti Tracker program.
