"Paper Collage with Matisse" from April 10-11.
The class teaches some of the different techniques of the famed French artist, Henri Matisse. The Open Studio will introduce participants to collage and the ways the artist used the technique to express shape and form.
Open Studio sessions are $3 per participant.
Sessions are available from noon to 1:30 p.m., 2 to 3:30 p.m. and 4 to 5:30 p.m.

Worskshops for successive weekends in April:
"Art with Music" combines the art of music with the visual arts. Students will learn to create their own masterpieces using watercolor to express movement in the active art lesson.
"Paper Collage with Matisse" teaches some of the different techniques of the famed French artist, Henri Matisse. The Open Studio will introduce participants to collage and the many ways the artist used the technique to express shape and form.
"Egyptian Profiles" offers students insight into the Egyptian culture with the study of the profile. The profile was used in almost all known art pieces and honored people of prominence.
"Picasso's Many Faces" introduces Pablo Picasso, one of the greatest artists of the twentieth century. Students will focus on Picasso's ability to distort images through cubism.
Open Studio sessions are on Fridays and Saturdays at the Art Depot, 16822 Spring St.

Impressionistic Landscape on Feb. 20-21
The workshop introduces some of the great masters of the Impressionistic era. Featured landscape artists include Monet, Renoir and Cassatt. Participants will learn techniques used in creating famous pieces with a lesson in pastel painting.
The Open Studio sessions at the Art Depot are located at 16822 Spring St.

In February, featured topics for art tutorials include "American Gothic Painting" on Feb. 7, "Henri Rousseau Jungle" on Feb. 13-14, "Impressionistic Landscape" on Feb. 20-21, and "Introducing Marc Chagall" on Feb. 27-28. 28).

"American Gothic Painting" takes a look at the painting American Gothic, by Grant Wood. The study offers an opportunity to develop skills in acrylic painting while learning about the famous works from Wood.
"Henri Rousseau Jungle" introduces the post-impressionist era artist Henri Rousseau. The lesson includes a look at the jungle images painted by Rousseau as well as an opportunity for participants to create their own watercolor jungles.
"Impressionistic Landscape" introduces some of the great masters of the Impressionistic era. Featured landscape artists include Monet, Renoir, and Cassatt. Participants will learn techniques used in creating famous pieces with a lesson in pastel painting.
"Introducing Marc Chagall" is a study in shape, form, line, and color featuring the work of artist Marc Chagall. Students will study, examine, and practice Chagall's form and the dream-like fantasies that feature in his work.
