It has been reported that production on the rebooted "V" television series has temporarily shut down.

This information was confirmed by Entertainment Weekly and a statement from Warner Bros.

The premiere will apparently go on as planned Nov. 3 on ABC, but what about the future of the series?  And what was it that caused the snag?

A part of the The Warner Bros. statement from EW:

We will take advantage of our November premiere to maximize creative opportunities and deliver the audience the best show possible.

That sounds like it could mean we're recasting, rearranging the staff and rethinking even redoing this series in the first place.

Sorry, maybe I'm just shell-shocked from all the "Dollhouse" drama last season.

Josef Adalian at THE WRAP writes it's not uncommon for shows to do this in their first season out of the gate.  Changes can be made to story direction and other things.

Or it could just mean what The Envelope suggests... this two-week hiatus may be there to give Elizabeth Mitchell from 'Lost" time to finish her work on that show... maybe.

What do you think of the trailer above?   And moreover, do you want to see a new "V" TV series?

Found this trailer at the MTV Movies Blog.  "Pandorum" stars Ben Foster (Angel from "X-Men: The Last Stand"), Cam Gigandet (James from "Twilight") and Dennis Quaid.  Foster and Quaid are astronauts who awaken from artificial slumber to discover their memories and crew are missing.

There's more info in the trailer -- perhaps too much info in the trailer -- Nevertheless, it looks intriguing.

The new Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen: trailer is out and is action packed to say the least. Looks like next month we'll be getting bigger bots, a revived Megatron, and more Megan Fox. Sounds like everything is in place for a sequel that should be better than the original.

The film comes out June 24th, and will battle Terminator for best bot flick of the summer.

Classic creatures from the 1950s get a high-tech makeover, with a healthy amount of attitude, in the 3-D animated "Monsters vs. Aliens."

The Blob, The Creature from the Black Lagoon, The Fly -- they're are all here, led by The 50-Foot Woman, who's now 49 feet, 11 inches as voiced by the diminutive Reese Witherspoon. (Animation, by the way, is a great fit for her, and for both the crispness and sweetness in her voice.)

Far from being menacing, they're optimistic misfits who just want to be loved and understood. Rather than destroying each other, they're loyal friends who've been trapped together as government test subjects, only to be unleashed on the world when an alien invasion requires their unique powers.

It's an enormously clever concept -- no pun intended -- with a choice voice cast. Who else but Seth Rogen could play a lovable blue blob named B.O.B., who always has a smile on his gelatinous face? Will Arnett essentially revives his hilariously cocky-but-clueless "Arrested Development" character, Gob Bluth II, as the half-fish, half-ape Missing Link, and Hugh Laurie lends his rich voice to the British mad scientist Dr. Cockroach.

Just seeing the words "And Stephen Colbert as The President" during the opening titles is good for a laugh, especially given the comic's faux run for The White House from his home state of South Carolina.

And the laughs keep coming steadily from there. Directors Rob Letterman ("Shark Tale") and Conrad Vernon ("Shrek 2"), working from a script from about a half-dozen people, maintains a high energy throughout, although the explosive climax feels bombastic and repetitive. Far more effective is the way this motley crew comes together.

I can't make this stuff up — B-movies are back. ELVIRA, where are you?

Say what you will about the shake-tacular camera work in "The Blair Witch Project," that film still has one of the creepiest endings I have ever seen. And I'm not one of those squeamish people who jump at their own shadows. For me "The Exorcist" is like watching "Cinderella," so if I'm freaked out that means something.

How is this latest effort by writer-director and Witch co-creator Daniel Myrick going to be? I don't know yet, but the trailer has me curious.

I believe the science fiction-fantasy film "9" directed by Shane Acker and produced by Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov (Nightwatch) is geared to start a wave of serious animated films not by Pixar.

It's not like there haven't been others but they either didn't get the profile I believe this one has already, or they delved too deep into Disney-style film tropes that shuffled them in with the rest of the cartoon crowd (starring wisecracking animals).

Focus Features is behind "9" and they are also releasing "Coraline." The film features the voice talents of Elijah Wood, Jennifer Connelly, Crispin Glover and John C. Reilly. Check out the Oscar nominated short film "9" by Acker here.

This film was brought to my attention by way of a friend and I was glad to hear about this. I talk all the time about the power of animation and the role these projects can play for stories that are science fiction and fantasy.  Maybe even producing an animated feature is a direction that can be taken by some filmmakers who cannot get the considerable live-action budget.

It is time consuming, but one day you may get distributed by Focus Features like "9."

By the way... the film will be released 9/9/09.

The trailer for '9'

If you can't see that here's a YouTube version below.

A fan-made trailer for a "Thundercats" movie caught my eye via MTV Splashpage.  It 's composed of several clips from movies and TV shows (can you ID any?) that are worked over so the actors can look like the 'Cats.

It is not only well done, I'm even thinking it's not a half bad idea for a live-action film. But I'm a "Thundercats" fan and biased.

Of course, I can't imagine a budget for this movie that would accommodate actors Brad Pitt, Vin Diesel and Hugh Jackman. And, if you can catch him in the trailer... there's GARFIELD.

Good work with this one Wormy-T!

X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE HD

For those who didn't brave "The Day The Earth Stood Still," here is a higher than average quality version of "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" trailer.

I'm trying to I.D. all of the characters who flashed briefly across the screen. Of course there's Gambit and Sabertooth, but is that Lady Deathstrike in there? And who is the kid making like a glow-worm?

If you guys can guess, drop me a line.

You ever get that "get off my lawn" type of crotchety anger? When I get that way it's just annoying, when Clint Eastwood does it in this trailer for his new film "Gran Torino" it's fine art.

Not our usual type of thing but Eastwood always gets a pass here at Modern Mythology.

Maybe I had to see him in person to believe it, but Kevin Smith is really, really funny. So is this trailer to his new comedy flick "Zack and Miri Make a Porno."

This picture in the hands of any other writer-director I would be skeptical but for Smith I'll give it a shot. It stars Seth Rogen (Superbad) and Elizabeth Banks (The 40 Year Old Virgin).

I can't embed it on my blog but if you want to see it go here and for all you consenting adults this is the other trailer for you here if you haven't seen it already.
