Two armed bandits made off with the Adelanto Bingo Barn's cash register early Friday morning, authorities said.
At 2:05 a.m., deputies learned the Bingo Barn's hold-up alarm had gone off. When they arrived, they learned that one of the men had a rifle or a shotgun and ordered everyone to the floor while the other man used a hammer to take the cash register, according to a sheriff's news release.
The men were completely covered, and the victims weren't able to get good descriptions.
The Bingo Barn, at 11986 Bartlett Ave., can hold up to 690 people and is open until 3 a.m. during the week and 3:30 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

Sheriff's deputies found a stolen vehicle Sunday afternoon during a traffic collision in Adelanto.
At 4:20 p.m., a deputy went to the scene of a crash at Delano and Lexington streets. He fond that Danny Edward Moore, 43, of Humble, Texas, had a misdemeanor warrant for bribery, according to a sheriff's news release.
The deputy also learned that the vehicle he was driving was stolen in Texas and found a gun inside, according to the release.
The vehicle was towed, and Moore was taken to West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga on suspicion of possession of stolen property. He was being held on $25,000 bail.

When deputies caught up with Chambers Friday at his home, he was arrested on suspicion of negligent discharge of a firearm and booked at the Victor Valley jail in Victorville in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Just before 8 p.m. Saturday, a woman reported that she had just been robbed at gunpoint on Verbena Road, according to a sheriff's news release.
The woman said she had been walking on the road when three people in a white Ford Taurus pulled up. One of the people inside brandished a handgun and demanded and took the woman's cell phone and purse before driving away.
Deputies learned that similar robberies had taken place in Victorville earlier in the day.
While he was responding to the call, a deputy saw the Taurus driving at a high rate of speed at Verbena and Palmdale Road. He stopped the car and found ski masks and a toy gun inside. He also found the woman's purse and cell phone, as well as skateboards and clothing belonging to people robbed earlier in the day in Victorville.
Deputies arrested Gerome Loring, 20 of Adelanto, Santiago Galvez, 18 of Adelanto, and a 16-year-old Adelanto girl. The girl was taken to Juvenile Hall in Apple Valley, and the two men were booked at West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga on $100,000 bail each.

On Saturday afternoon, a neighbor called deputies to report that the woman, Esther Ormsby had abused her stepson in the 9900 block of Payne Court and given him a bloody mouth and bruised face, according to a sheriff's news release.
Deputies arrested Ormsby and booked her in lieu of $50,000 at the Victor Valley Jail in Victorville.

Roland and Brock reported the television stolen in December. The employees later learned that the television was in the 11200 block of Auburn Avenue in Adelanto and tried to recover it Saturday, causing a disturbance. Deputies arrived and later found the television there.
Roland was arrested and booked at Victor Valley Jail in Victorville on suspicion of theft with priors and filing a false police report. He was being held on $20,000 bail. Brock had not been arrested as of Monday afternoon.

None of the injuries were life threatening, said California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation spokesman Paul Verke.
"Basically the disturbance involved approximately 100 inmates and was contained
shortly thereafter," he said.
The facility, which has a capacity of 643, was on lockdown through the weekend. As
of Tuesday, the facility was no longer on lockdown, but there were still increased
restrictions on inmates, Verke said. The Department of Corrections contracts with the GEO Group Inc. to run the prison.
The cause of the disturbance is under investigation, he said.

Lewis' family members said they were happy the Sheriff's Department had someone in custody.
"We were elated. Elated," said Lewis' aunt, Connie Law.

A 21-year-old man suspected of fatally stabbing his roommate with a steak knife at a group home in Adelanto denied the charges Monday during an arraignment.
Mark Daniel Barbaro entered not guilty pleas to charges in connection with the death of 51-year-old William Rush Pennington on Dec. 30 at the Flamingo Development Center, in the 1300 block of Butte Street.
Barbaro was arraigned before Judge Gregory S. Tavill in Victorville Superior Court. He is scheduled to return to court Wednesday to confirm his lawyer, according to court records.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested Tuesday afternoon on suspicion of evading a deputy and possession of a stolen vehicle in Adelanto, officials said.
At 1:10 p.m. a deputy was called to Begonia Road and Delicious Street, where he saw the boy driving at a high rate of speed and then not stop at a stop sign, according to a sheriff's news release.
The teen wouldn't stop when the deputy tried to pull him over, and instead the teen drove into a wash area and then tried to run away on foot.
The teen could not get away and was arrested and booked at Apple Valley Juvenile Hall.
Soon after, authorities learned that the motorcycle the teen was driving had been stolen from a Victorville home Dec. 5. After searching the teen's home, authorities found more stolen property from that Victorville home, according to the release.

Four inmates needed to be taken to local hospitals Monday night because of injuries, and one staff member received minor injuries, according to the release. An additional two inmates were taken to the hospital early this morning, said spokesman Chris Burke.
