A 54-year-old Rancho Cucamonga man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of fleeing the scene after a collision with a man on a bike.

David Ross was booked at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga.

The bicyclist, Richard Asebedo, was taken to San Antonio Community Hospital for injuries to his legs and left arm, according to a San Bernardino County Sheriff's news release.

About 3 p.m., Asebedo was riding south on Haven Avenue when he was allegedly struck by a new Jeep Cherokee Laredo, sheriff's deputies said.

The Jeep drove away from the scene going west on Church Street towards Hermosa Avenue.

Sheriff's deputies conducted area checks on Church Street for more than an hour and found a new Jeep with "Jeep Chrysler of Ontario" paper plates parked in the 11000 block of Church Street, according to the news release.

Shortly after 6 p.m., sheriff's deputies interviewed the registered owner of the vehicle and made the arrest.
