The Chino Hills Council on Tuesday approved a $95,973 purchase order with Sarcom to purchase computers and software for the new James S. Thalman Library, scheduled to open in January

Another purchase order worth $30,211.86 to En Pointe Technologies was also approved for data network communications equipment at the library.

The County requested the city purchase 97 computes. The current library has only 11 public computers and six staff computers which, according to a report, are old and outdated.

The Friends of the James S. Thalman Chino Hills Library fund-raising board announced it would make a $40,000 donation for enhancements to the new library facility expected to open in January. Board member Sharon Wilkins and other board members were recentl taken on a tour of the new Library and Government Civic Center facilities.

Free teen tutors are on hand at the James S. Thalman Library to help children in grades 1 through 6, with their homework in all subjects. Sign ups are not necessary. Program is first come, first serve, and is held Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

 

 

Preschool storytime is held on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. in the Community Room of the Chino Hills James S. Thalman Library. Organizers feature stories, songs, games and crafts. The program is intended for children ages 3 to 5.

On the Lap Storytime is held for toddlers over six months on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. in the library children's room. The weekly program features songs and playtime for child and caregiver.
