The track released its schedule on Wednesday touting the return of NASCAR, the AMA and NHRA to its facilities.
“From the debut of the Car of Tomorrow to the return of the Suzuki AMA Superbike Championship and NHRA SPORTSnationals, 2008 promises to be California Speedway’s most exciting year yet,” said Gillian Zucker, president of California Speedway. “There’s something for every race fan.”
NASCAR will make its first visit to the track Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 as part of Preseason Thunder. It will be the first time NASCAR’s Car of Tomorrow, which was introduced at the Cup level last year, will be on the Fontana track.
The first race of the year for the track will be on the weekend of Feb. 22-24 with NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, Nationwide Series and Sprint Cup Series races. NASCAR returns on Labor Day weekend with Nationwide Series and Sprint Cup Series races on Aug. 29-31.
