An abundance of RBs

Picking the area's top running back presents a problem because nearly every team has at least one and three schools have at least two quality ball carriers.

The following are running backs who would be potential starters for any area team:

Matt Navarro (California, big/physical), Matt Sirko (Cantwell, solid/quick), Steve Ochoa (La Habra, strong/Mr. Inside) and Jason Davis (La Habra, elusive/Mr. Outside), Jon Potts (La Serna, durable/physical), Roland Reyes (Pioneer, quick/great genes), Tony Hernandez (Pioneer, FB/LB mentality), Keith Gains (Santa Fe, waterbug quick), Steve Cano (Schurr, solid/league MVP), Ncolas Grigsby (St. Paul, total package), Isaac Garcia (Whittier, quick/athletic), Esteban Camarillo (Whittier Christian, zoom!!!), Dere Gersch (Whittier Christian, other half of Heralds' pony backfield).

At the top of the list, probably Grigsby and Camarillo, with the Swordsman getting slight edge because of size advantage. Otherwise, it's a pretty close group.

Anyone left out? Pick a Top 5.

From what I hear Grigsby actually lives in the boundary of Pioneer High so he went back to St. Paul. To bad for Cal because there was a lot of talking coming from out that way of finally beating Santa Fe this year. I guess its true…..you shouldn’t count your chickens before their hatched!

Nick had indeed been practicing with Cal High during the summer, but in the end the transfer was not allowed and he returned to st paul for hell week.
