I think this is so funny how 3 people are sitting here on their butts at home arguing about absoutely nothing....

I am sorry to rain on La Mirada's parade, but you guys have never really done anything in basketball before, and never will.

You guys might be number two in the weakest area paper in so cal, but once the league play and playoffs come around, you guys suck.

You are going to lose 6 more games no matter what this season to SB, ARTESIA 2X, GAHR, AND MAYFAIR 2X.....

THATS 9 LOSSES plus 1 in first round cif, which makes 10......

thats hardly anything to brag about.

I also love how the coach here makes it seem like la mirada is some amazing team with super humans, and should be undefeated even though they lost by scores of 42, 7, and 6. I can see losing by 1 or 2, but 42???
7?

come on...get of you high horses and look at the big picture, you guys are mediocre at best and will never be anything but mediocre.

Sincerely,
LB JoPanther

I've seen WC play are a good team. I have not seen LM play so I can't really cooment too much on them. However, they have had quality wins over Lawndale and Warren and they are big and athletic. I would not sell LM short until you've seen them play. Looking forward to see how they do against Mayfair and Artesia.

Regardless, LM and WC are the best teams in the area.

This is the part I love...
Listen hah, it's called sarcasim!!! "Top Teams" meaning Santa Fe, La Habra according to the area opening rankings..C'mon, what other team in the area has faced quality opponents and done well?? Who else has traveled across the states and played good teams??? Who else has a tough schedule like LM??? Laugher??? You want a laugher, put LM against any other area team and they will smash em. Too Big, Too Strong, and Too Athletic. What area team are you following??? Last I checked, Mayfair, Artesia, and Santa Barbara aren't local area teams...
Nothing to brag about??? The area's "TOP" team Whittier Christian's combined opponents record they faced...96-123. LM...105-63. Hmmm.. What's really going on here???

what " top teams " have u beat???

im talking to suburban league man...

i just looked at ur schedule and you have nothing to brag about....

there is one quality win (lawndale) who i was suprised to see your team beat, but the rest of your schedule is basically nothing but a bunch or mediocre or less teams a BIG team should beat....

i am liking that north torrance score though, im sure that game was a laugher, but maybe not as much as artesia, mayfair, and SB will be....

Yo,Murray what's up. Look my kid plays at LSHS. Why don't you give the PHS team or Coach Mata some credit. Coach lowe always talks highly of Coach Mata and what he has done over there. Look at the standings from maxpreps.com

1. SFHS 11-5
2. LSHS 7-5
3. PHS 7-8
4. CHS 5-8
5. WHS 1-11
6. EEHS 1-12

Coach Mata loss a lot from last year team. They were 17-11. So come on Mr. Murray give him some RESPECT.

Roger what you say can't nice things about Pioneer. Come on Coach Mata made the play-offs 4 out 6 year. You tell me he hasn't done a good job there. You know and I know he get alot out of his players. Show some kind of RESPECT.

Yo, Del Rio,
Whittier's boys 0-12 is a shocker. Not sure what's going on there.
Haven't been able to reach coach Varos. One thing to consider, however, is the Cardinals have played some very strong teams.
How about these nice surprises:
Whittier's girls (8-5); St. Paul's boys (6-7); and La Mirada's boys
(8-3).
And don't count out California (5-7). They often play two, three
quarters of good basketball, then let the rest of the game beat them. It
appears the potential is there, finding a way to realize it is the challenge.

Del Rio said:

Wow Roger, You picked Whittier to win there 0-12.

SFHS 9-4
LSHS 7-5
PHS 7-6
Cal 5-7
ERHS 1-11
WHS 0-12

Wow the sleeper might be PHS. Hey Roger why don't you write something on the Coach from Pioneer. I think he's in his 6th year. He's done a great job over there.

La Serna Girls Basketball have proven once again they are the best. Beating St.Paul and Sante Fe over Christmas shows who is number one.

Size??? Williams - F/C 6'8. Siemens - G 6'4. Kaupang - C 6'6. Robbins - F 6'4. McGill - F 6'4. Gillett - G 6'3. Ballhogs??? Brutal think twice. LM has some talented athletes who are under Coach Kaupang system for the first time. Let's not forget it was preseason when you checked em out. Check back at the end of the season before you sell off LM's team play. Who's to say WC hasn't already peeked and LM's groove has yet to come??? After all, a bunch of ballhogs and individuals have defeated some of the areas "TOP" teams. Head to Head....Sounds like a great game.

Coaches remember why you are out there. I know it's not for the $$$ but because you love the game. Don't disrepect the game by letting a official get in the way of what you are trying to accomplish with your program. Not every ref is goin to be "your" ref. They have a job to do just as you, and just as you Coach, not everytime is perfect. Coaches need to explain to their boys that all they need to worry about is that name across the front of their jerseys. They have a job to do represting their programs name to the fullest. And this starts with the Coaches. None of the area boys will be headed to the NBA, or yet a D1 College. So let's try and teach the boys on growing into young level headed men. They can catch Bob Knight on ESPN Classic. Just remember for some of you Coaches, you may be that role model in some of these young boys life.

im sorry mr. piazza and suburban man, but la mirada is NOT the number 1 team in the area. WCHS has the most size by far and plays the best team ball in the area. Ive seen bith teams play but la mirada has a bunch of individuals and ball hogs, which i feel would make them a huge underdog head to head against wchs

Just another year for Whittier. Varos gets thrown from a game and the team loses. Mike, if your reading this. Take a pill and relax for once and let the kids play, the refs ref, and you coach instead of yell and get ejected. Varos knows the game but when will he show us?

Surburban League BBall...Go LM!!! said:

I'd have to agree with you Mr. Piazza...La Mirada by far is the Number 1 TEAM in the area. Whittier Christian is right behind, and the rest of the area is pretty much even.

saint paul sucks who do you guys play in basketball santa fe baby all the way!!

Tech Savy said:

Wrestling is a winter sport ....Does anyone have a slight chance of knocking off Santa Fe in the Del Rio League? Just curious on the feedback....

Bob said:

You gotta be kidding me.
Saint Paul beat Pioneer last night. And yet, Pioneer is died for 5th?

You have to start giving the St. Paul boys some credit. yeah the past couple years have been rough but Coach Miller has totally turned the program around.

Saenz and Orbita are a deadly guard combo. No one in the area could match up with their quickness.

Matt Piazza said:

La Mirada boys are the best basketball team in the area this year.
