FOOTBALL: El Rancho staff set

| | Comments (26) |

The second phase is complete in El Rancho High School's restructuring of
it football program.
The first phase was replacing former coach Willie
Reyna, and the hiring of Gene Parsons took care of that.
The second phase was putting together a staff, and Parsons' confirmed Friday that
he has one in place, although he said he "might add one or two more" at some point down the line.
For the record, he listed the following:
Offensive coordinator - Joe Ledesma
Defensive coordinator - Roddy Hiatt
Running backs - Tony Gonzales
Secondary/receivers - David Cervantes
Offensive/defensive line - Bob Barajas, Louie Zamora
Parsons said that Ledesma would help out with the line, and that he
would handle the quarterbacks.
Ledesma was a Dons assistant coach under Greg Setlich.
Hiatt is a former head coach at East Los Angeles College.
Zamora was on Reyna's staff.
The next step is getting the players to buy into the program, and apparently that is happening quickly.
"We'll be ready for spring ball," Parsons said during an interview last month. "We're looking forward to it."

Hard to tell. I doubt either team will go all the way to the Super Bowl again. It's a good time to make Superbowl bets though, the odds are really high.

I am grateful to come across this post.

I heard he was looking for a house in the La Serna area before he got the offer.Murray can you tell us more about Cal and La Serna staff. Also I heard of a new transfer rule that CIF is going to vote on soon can you find out or does anyone know about this.

How is it possible that Jordan will be allowed to transfer to La Serna High School when he played the last three years at Schurr AND he lives in the Pioneer High School district.

I'm sure if Joe Jordan is going to be the OC, then his son is coming with him!?!

WHAT? said:

La Serna's staff I believe will be Beltran HC/DC - Joey Jordan (Pioneer & Schurr) OC/QB - Winchell OL - George WR - Arellano (HH Wilson & Amat) RB/LB - Ibarra DL - Arellano LB and others to come. El Rancho's staff is set and I believe Cal High's is set also! Good luck to all!

El Rancho said:

That is correct, spring ball starts on May 14th.

If like other schools, the first day for spring ball for El Rancho will be Monday, May 14.

Pico Parent said:

El Rancho,

When is spring ball set to start for ER?

El Rancho said:

A little bit more than 2 weeks till spring ball starts, I cant wait, theres nothing that would lead me to believe this program has not taken a complete 180 from the Willie Reyna era. The kids have been looking good during 4th period football, I cant wait till the track and baseball kids get on that football field.

Like I said "hard working staff" but does Gonzales have the time, and I heard that Barajas and Valle were going to do the freshman. With Ledesma the o.c. we will see the wing-t, with Hiatt the d.c. looks like it will be the 4-4 or some other even front.
As far as the others
La Serna H.C. Beltran, o.c. Jordan, OL. Winchell, w.r. George, d.l. Yabarra
Cal hi H.C. Arnold, he's got some coaches from Sunny hills coming and about 4 coaches from last years staff

This seems like a very good staff. Hopefully they can be competitive this year although it'll be interesting to see how long this staff stays together

johnsmith said:

good news, but what about Cal-Hi and La Serna's staff? Who is gone and who is staying for those high school programs?
