You don't have to post my blog Mr. Murray but where the heck are you. Once again La Mirada has received little or no attention from your paper. LM Baseball did win 9th Suburban League title..yeah LM. The also beat 9th (or 7th) ranked Lakewood last Saturday but received no mention. Tony Peraza pitched great. Press Telegram at least had a blurb...and the team in their area lost. Give our boys some recognition. 4 have received college scholarships. 3 of the boys were also starters ont he basketball team that beat Artesia this year. 6 are former little league world champions. Can you find nothing to write about LM?
Santa Fe deserves to be top 5, but not Cal. La Serna beat them 2 of 3 and has a better overall record at 14-10, while Cal has a losing record. La Serna has played the toughest schedule as well (La Quinta, Yucaipa, Arcadia, Penninsula, Troy, La Habra, Newport Harbor, etc), and lost 4 of 6 league games by one run, the others by 2 and 3. Check Max Preps stats and you'll see that Cal does not deserve to be ranked ahead of La Serna.
Tough season for the Lancers, but they are better than their league record would indicate. El Rancho is a pretty solid team, and Santa Fe has good arms and some clutch hitters. Very competitive Del Rio this year. Could be down to the wire for 3rd place.
how did santa fe make that ranking??
Well that 5-0 loss to ER must have really hurt Cal Hi, this morning someone broke into the ranch and left Cal Hi newspapers all over the campus.
El Rancho suprised the hell out of me this year, they have great coaching and they develop their players well. that being said, its not the easiest road for the Ranch, two with CAL and two with LS. Cal fighting for that league title, and LS desperate for a playoff birth. should be some good baseball this week.
Just like I said before the season started, dont count out the ranch, I think we will hold on to that league lead and win league. Over the past 3 seasons the ranch is 36-5 in league. I think we can make it 40-5.
