Girls Volleyball Midseason Survey

| | Comments (7) |

As league play kicks off today, which local girls volleyball team will take the reigns in league play and also establish itself as the best in the area?

Is Cal-Hi the best squad in the Del Rio League and in the area? Can/will Santa Fe, El Rancho or anyone else challenge?

What about St. Paul (Camino Real), Whittier Christian (Olympic), La Habra (Suburban) and La Mirada (Freeway)?

Is there any interest in the races or in volleyball in general? How would you rank the area teams? Speak now.

Here are the thoughts of Cal-Hi's Marissa Rangel-

I don't know about who is the best player in the Del Rio League, but I know California was by far the best team. They played as a team all year long. It's too bad the results in the CIF Final Game were less than expected. The team party was great though.

Marissa Rangel is by far the best player in the Del Rio League no doubt about it. She string hits, good passes, and everything else. Kelsey Stehle is another good one to watch out for too as well as Chanelle Pouo. Cal Hi is looking good. Good luck in league girls!!!!

First, I attended the La Habra - Troy (Freeway League) game last night and the gym was 90% full....(La Habra won in 3) I think that interest is growing... (I know it will never match Football...) La Habra looked strong and they have several attackers.. Also they are ranked the highest on MaxPreps (http://www.maxpreps.com/FanPages/SectionRankings.mxp/California/Girls_Varsity_Volleyball_Fall_07-08/AreaID-8e11e7d4-d3fa-4e6f-827f-652c29439d27) for CIFSS. Next would be Cal, then?? Good luck to all the teams...

I've seen Cal play all their pre-season games and they have done extremely well. I wish them the best of luck in league....GO Condors......as for Marissa Rangel she is really good, but keep a look out for junior Kelsy Stehl(I think thats how you spell it) she has an awesome serve and I think she deserves some looks as well.
