Six area schools qualified for the CIF-Southern Section Divisional playoffs which begin this Tuesday.

Almont League champion Montebello (15-11) and Almont League No. 3 Schurr (7-7) are the area qualifiers in Division I, which begins first-round action on Wednesday.

The Del Rio League's three entries in Division III include league champion Whittier (15-7) along with runner-up El Rancho (22-7) and third-place La Serna (20-6). The Dons and Lancers open up wild-card play on Tuesday while Whittier sits back and waits till Thursday's first round.

Finally, in Division VI, Freeway League co-champion La Habra (18-11) received a Tuesday bye and will get started Thursday in the second round.
