La Serna Bows Out Early

Breaking News from the CIF-Southern Section Division III Wrestling Dual Meet Championships from Whittier High School.

La Serna falls to undefeated Montclair in the first round by a score of 67-9.

The Lancers (6-3), the No. 2 seed from the Rio Hondo League surrendered pins on 9 of 14 matches to No. 5-ranked Montclair (19-0), the Mt. Baldy League champions.

La Serna wins were turned in by senior Jacob Powell, who won an 8-5 decision over Montclair's Lance Cisneros in the 145-pound bout, and by 103-pounder Jordan Vega, who pinned Minh Wong.
