Whittier's Barron commits to UC Berkeley
Whittier High school senior Lauren Barron has made an oral commitment to attend UC Berkeley. She said she'll sign the official letter of intent in April.
A key member of two Cardinal CIF championship teams, Barron is a four-year starter and a two-time Daily News all-area selection.
This season, she leads the Cardinals in scoring and is one of the area's most versatile players.
Any info' out there concerning other water polo players who have committed or are planning to commit to colleges?

All-San Gabriel Valley girl’s water polo player Sarah M. Orozco from Montebello High School signed a National Letter of Intent in Nov. to attend and play for the UCLA Bruins. She will be joining another All-Area team player, her sister Priscilla M. Orozco.
Like her sister Priscilla, Sarah has a long list of accomplishments in the sport of water polo including being a member of the USA National Youth Team for the last three years. She has played on many club water polo National Championship teams for the Commerce Aquatics Club, was a member of the Montebello team that went to back-to-back Division 1 CIF Championships and has been named to the D1 All-CIF team the last two years.
Another Senior from Montebello High School, Brittany Connell, the Goalie who also played with Sarah and Priscilla will be attending and playing water polo at Bucknell University next year.
