Wrestling Pairings Released

Three local schools will take their dreams of a championship to the mat in this Saturday's CIF-Southern Section Dual Meet Wrestling Championships.

Santa Fe (5-0), defending Division III champion, opens up at 11:00 a.m. against Barstow (11-15), the No. 2 seed out of the Desert League. The Chiefs, also Del Rio League champion, are the No. 2 seed in Division III behind last year's runner up South Hills (8-2).

La Serna (6-2), the Del Rio's League No. 2 entry, tangles with Mt. Baldy League Champion Montclair (18-0), ranked No. 5 in the division.

Both squads do have one distinct advantage as the Division III Championships will be held at Whittier High School.

Schurr (9-3), the Almont League runner-up and ranked No. 6 in the latest CIF-SS Division V poll, takes on unranked De Anza League champion Yucca Valley (8-3) in the first round at San Gabriel High School, also at 11 a.m.

Weigh-in/Grooming begins at 9 a.m. with all first-round bouts starting at 11 a.m.
