Hey Rich,

Who put's up the stats on the 605 All Star Game website. I played for the West in 1988 and kicked 6 PAT. The website shows the record at 4???

Let's clear the air a little bit. The comment about Grigsby was simply an analogy, not a slam. You can twist it anyway you want, but here are facts. Simply put, No one submitted El Rancho players for this years game. They weren't the only ones. Without a coaches nomination, they don't get on the team. You can't make up any story you want, but that is the rule and has been since 1986. The point was if a player of Grigsby's caliber cannot get in without a coaches nomination then no one can. Did the light come on yet?

I am aware of every nomination, every year. For anyone to
"assume" what I know as the organizer is pure speculation on their part. We never received a nomination for Grigsby. Whoever said that is stretching the truth. That's a fact. Everyone knows he is a good ball player, but we have good ones every year. Two more got drafted to the NFL this year. We had several Pac-10 players play last year and will have at least five more this year. Let it go now. I wish Grigsby nothing but success. And lastly why does everyone hide on this board. Put your name up. It doesn't hurt. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. These boards are not only entertaining but you can get educated at the same time. When you start making things personal, you've already lost your point.

Like him or not Grigsby is the real deal. The article i read in the Az republic Stoops says he has gained 15lbs and is a lot stronger and faster.

I'm not sure who I'm firing my comments to, but they are not wrong or ill-advised, bro. Judging from your side comments about player personalities, I would guess you are a fan of the Swordsmen. Judging from the way the roster has trickled out, I'd be surprised if Rich Estrella could tell you who was nominated THIS year. He has taken on a tough task for the last 7 or 8 years, but it is still not the 605 game of old. We won't agree, which means one of us is wrong. Feel good about it! I'll be looking for all the RB's from last year's 605 roster that started in the PAC-10.

Yo 300, remember who you are firing your ill-advised and ever so wrong comments to. Rich Estrella, who is the game director, knows 100% that Grigsby was NOT even NOMINATED by his own coach last year which is why he was not on the squad. The 605 coaches have dozens of talented players on both sides of the ball, and do not need to deal with primadonnas during practices and in the games. So make sure you have some knowledge next time before you post bro, this game hasnt been around 41 years for just being a half-grade show.

What does that mean, remember Grigsby? He was nominated by the Cal coaches - it was the St. Paul coaches that denied him! Remember to keep your facts straight and your innuendos to a minimum.

What's up bloggers. Just want to say thanks for your interest in the 605 game. Roger hit it on the head when he said there are just a lot of deserving players this year. Four CIF Champions reside on the Eastside this year. This is a big time all star game. We get pressured each year from schools outside our 605 area requesting consideration. And remember, No player gets in without their coaches consent. Remember Grigsby. 605 practices begin next week. Good luck to all.

RAY MARID (ELRANCHO) WILL ALSO BE IN THE 605 GAME THOUGHT YOU KNEW IT

Because there were alot better athletes picked for the running back and safety position.

Yo, just looking: Coaches are sent forms on which to nominate players from their teams for the game, and a committee makes the selections from the forms that are returned. Not all coaches fill them out and return them. La Serna coach Margarito Beltran obviously filled out/returned his. but I don't know whose names he listed.
Jordan certainly has the ability to qualify, but he may have just been a victim of the committee's numbers. Most of the players in the game have received all-something honors.

who picks the players?

and

why wasnt rudy jordan picked? after all he was drl first team runningback and safety?

what happened to james cervantes from cal hi, he isnt on the list

abel ramirez (NG) from LS should have made that list. that guy is a stud.

Roger Murray said:

Yo, Condor fan (?): Thanks for participating. He was taken as a defensive back, and actually, he is that good.

condor fan said:

Drew Harris is not that good!! He's just tall and that's it! He complains way too much and isn't a team player he doesn't belong in the 605 game!

Why r there not any kids from gahr on this list I mean they took st paul eventual division champ into the final minutes of the there game.

Joe said:

Does anyone know when and where the practices are gonna be

im going to love seeing Andrew Canales (La Habra) next year

Joey Jordan will not return as La Serna's offensive coordinator. No new hire. For now, and most likely the coming season, head coach Margarito Beltran will fill the role.

wow one player from santa fe.

Of the 605 participants from the local area, the following played youth football with the Whittier Redskins, Norwalk Saints, or La Mirada Matadores:

Ryan Rosenthal (WR), Nick Alvarez (WR/NS), Joe Dankert (LM), David Flores (NS), and Drew Harris (WR).

Congrats to these boys to their long devotion to the sport! Can't wait to cheer them on!

Also, Drew Harris is the only player from the area who played in the All-Star basketball game for the Sargent's Classic and is playing in the 605 Game. Congrats!!

Del Rio League Fan said:

Hey Murray,
Has Jordan been replaced as a offensive coordinater at La Serna? If they did, who did they hire?

Roger Murray said:

Yo, Ranch; Actually, the name being tossed about (initially by LAPreps) is Rick Zepeda, a well-respected, off-campus guy with strong St. Paul ties (how ironic is that?). Hopefully we can confirm whomever has been selected some time early this week.

Ranch said:

Speakingof El Rancho, I'm surprised that no one has talked about who the new coach will be. Well I heard that Louie Zamora was not offered the job even though he was favored by the kids!

It looks like El Rancho administration doesn't care about the kids best interests. I wonder if the new coach will be gone after next year just like Parsons.

elrancho said:

Hmm thats odd no one from El Rancho....
