In whose path lies the roughest road??

Time time to consider the following and tell who in the Del Rio League has the
toughest nonleague schedule. Guaranteed, when it comes to evaluating a
team's strength later on, these games will weigh in heavily on the
prognosticator's opinion.

While you're at it, which team has the easiest nonleague schedule?
Reasoning is welcome and, as always, brevity is encouraged.

Yo Murray too bad you and Campa dont always or even sometimes follow your own sayings "Sometimes better to wait and be correct than first and wrong."
The both of you would rather write wrong than wait an report correctly or accurately. Oh well no wonder you two are just small town local reporters.
Keep impressing the simpletons.

BIG RED,

Hey bro, just thought I'd open things up and bring out the discussion some, given your disdain for the El Rancho program. As I mentioned on the post, I think all teams did well to have some strong teams in their schedule. Pioneer seems to have a much tougher schedule as they have responded to the critics. However, imho, I think they are in over their heads, and playing teams like St. Paul and Charter Oak, may hurt them during league.

As for your analysis on comparing the Whittier and El Rancho pre-season schedule. The Dons have two MAJOR opponents this pre-season. West Covina will still be strong, even with their loss. They have a strong running back coming back. Didnt Schurr lose their head coach? I dont expect them to be strong this year. I would take BG over Roosevelt as they are a much more aggressive team. Whittier made a big deal when they beat BG last year in OT. So I dont know why the put down this year. As for the others, Cerritos and Montebello are poor programs, and should not give the Dons much trouble.

As for El Rancho, there are alot of question marks. Lots of solid young players, but mostly unproven. Still no word on whether Kyle Washington is returning. He could make a big impact. However, I do expect big things from Marcus Aldecoa on offense, and Bryan Turner on defense. Should be an exciting year. Good luck to you.

Pioneer looks to be the toughest preseason with C.Oak
& St.Paul,& Cypress, El Rancho has West Co & St Francis who could be the same in caliber as C.Oak & St.Paul, but after those two it looks lite. Santa Fe should be in over their heads with San Clemente but could have some competitive games with Warren & Downey.
La Serna has a big name on their schedule with Los Altos but they are expecting a rebuilding year, & La Mirada hasn't been very good in recent years.
Cal Hi has had some decent teams recently so I don't
understand their lite schedule, Whittier also looks light.

Here is why I picked er
ER Whittier
ST. Francis vs Warren - ST. Francis
West covina vs Schurr - Schurr: WC lost qb to baseball will have to start a soph, Schurr down, thats what they said last year.
Bell gardens vs Roosevelt - Roosevelt: BG cant defend aganist the pass.
Montebello vs Bell Gardens - BG
Cerritos vs Firebaugh - Firebaugh: HC and staff from compton team turned compton around, Cerritos wins 3 games in two years. who should play 8 man.

BCP, I'm working on it. One thing certain, Littlerock comes from a league rich in flat out speed.

hey. anonymous based on last years records, el rancho has weakest schedule, none of the teams had a winning record last year and the best team recordwise on their schedule is bell gardens at (5-5). whats with the hate on ls?

Yo Murray,

What’s that supposed to mean???? I was just letting you know what I found on the world wide web and where I found it so you didn’t think it was just hearsay on my part. We all know you are still new to this form of surfing but thank you for the correction.

Any info on Littlerock????

L.A. Franklin backed out of the week 4 game. Rick Zepeda had to fill as quick as possible, and was able to get a home game against St. Francis. Tough matchup. Looking forward to the game.

As for the toughest pre-league schedule? Hmmmm...I'd say all teams have done a good job having both strong teams and a few cream puffs in their schedule. I'd have to give the 'weakest' nod to Whittier. Roosevelt aint what it used to be under Casagran. Schurr wont be much this year, Bell Gardens has been an average team at best since Do and Andrade left, and Firebaugh? What do they play? 8-man football? ;)

Yo, yo Big Chief ...
Actually, just confirmed Santa Fe is playing Littlerock Thursday 09/18. So much for High SchoolSports.net. Sometimes better to wait and be correct than first and wrong.

Pioneer has the toughest schedule, they should be good against SE Monte, Bolsa Grande and they have been very competitve with Cypress over the last two years only losing by one score. But i dont know about Charter Oak and St Paul those teams might be to tough for them. Anyways Good Luck Titans

As usual, La Serna has the weakest schedule. Won't gain any respect that way.

BIG RED said:

Toughest schedule - Pioneer: Way over there heads
weakest schedule - El Rancho: Cerritos, Montebello not getting any better this year
