I remember the Upland game and the tall kicker he could boot that pill a long way. But he was also a receiver and with his uniform spoil with spots of blood; he couldn’t get it done not even from 35 yards which he misses badly. Most memorable they Upland receive that bitter pill first and march down field without much resistant score 7, it look like a very long cold bitter night for El Rancho. Never scored again did Upland. El Rancho 35.

Why isn't there any La Habra fans bragging about their win over a D1 opponent... oh yeah... they don't have one to brag about this year...

I have actually watched footage of that 1988 ER vs Ramona Semi Final game, ER went in there and absolutely out hit, out hustled and out played Ramona that night. Absolutely awesome game where some real Ranch football was played!!

Yes El Rancho vs. Upland was a hell of; well let’s say a very exciting game. No disrespect my opinion is the year before 1988 El Rancho at Ramona-Riverside. The school shut the gates early on both sides’ people had to look through the fence from both end zones. Ramon’s running back was one of the top sprinters in the state. When the game ended he sat at the 50 yard line couldn’t believe it. Now for El Rancho league starts, Cal.Hi is tough (league champs) so let’s focus on the second half of the season. GO RANCH!

Wow anonymous. Upland had a kicker that was kicking 70 yard field goals to warm up. lol. Yet they couldn't even get a field goal on the board. imagine that was warm ups. in the game he could probably kick 100 yard field goals lol. could he throw the ball clear over those mountains also. Sounds like a pretty tall tale. lol

This year the Del Rio league is very tough you have Santa Fe, who is always good, La Serna who is okay, but a lot of people are really underestimating the DEFENDING league CHAMPIONS CAL. Who are currently 5-0. A lot of talk has been made about there offense, but they are pretty good. They have a really strong run game, with backs Urquisa and Jones, and not to mention quarterback Greg Perea. Their defense is the really strong part of the team. Not a lot of teams can run the ball on Cal's defense, and they can surely defend the pass as well. Don't be surprised if CAL took league for their THIRD year in a row.

wow, bringin' up a high school football game before these kids were born and they probably dont care about it...Heart is alot, winning is everything...only a losing team finds satisfaction in getting beat 35-7...wow

El Rancho vs St Francis said:

EL RANCHO, hit them hard and offend. When you feel you can’t hit any more suck it up and hit again. So when the dust clears and the blood starts to dry you’ll hold your head up high. Year 1989 El Rancho vs. Upland 35 to 7 we should not have won, we had no chance. They were bigger, faster. Upland’s running back larger than any of our line men. With a 6’5” kicker who was before the game “making” 60 to 70 yard field gold’s just warming up. The school brought the whole city of Upland and maybe a few surrounding cities. The stadium was in full capacity standing room only. That night we never forgot. El Rancho, this Friday, leave it all on the field.

this weeks predictions

Cal over EM
With Urquiza back Cal's weak offense will at least have their primary RB.

St. Francis over ER
ER playing a team out of their league...won't be close

San Clemente over LH
If San Clemente controls the clock like they did against SF and keeps the LH offense off the field they will win

Los Altos over LS
LA is better than their record indicates, but I wouldn't be surprised if LS got the upset. BTW does anyone know the last time an 0-4 team was favored over a 4-0 team...only LS and their JV schedule in their first 4 games would get that lack of respect.

SP over Pioneer
SP once again beats another "cupcake" team in the area...

SF over Downey
A steady dose of Turner avg about 200yards per game should prepare the Chiefs for their run back to the top of DRL.

Schurr over Whittier
This pick is a no-brainer
