El Rancho is receiving state and government funding like taxes Unprecedented. How are we so fortunate or is it fortuitous? The ranch enrolls nearly 3000 students plus parents and add family members what’s that annually over 9000 people who care? Your sentiments are reprehensible. And calling you hateful is superfluous it’s clear. Those type of views are a liability to all schools. SUPPORT ALL STUDENTS.
Sorry to bust your bubble, I don’t think soooo! I’m sure you think you’re above it all if you are the real deal? You know too much about the coaching staff. If you despise ER so much why would you even give a thought to a school that doesn’t matter to you? I went to ST Paul my kids go to El Rancho and I and many others wouldn’t put down any school full of young kids. Nice try little bud. What’s the saying IT‘S ALL GOOD! Is it a Whittier school you’re a phony!!!! Er c/o 92.
English Quiz, I'll be graduating from college. You know very little I’ve been on track since middle school and I hope you do better than blogging my bad spell check, playing football on the weekends, or cruising around the high school? Love you to death
Blue Pride ?
Please do not, I repeat do not, write on this blog again. You are letting everyone know, What a fine education you got at El Rancho. Some parents will see this and send their kids, some were else. You must have gone to school with c/o 92. With bloggers like you two. We don't need other bloggers to put down the Ranch.
This blog should only be for the players. I cant believe parents and alums come here. Come on let the kids play and the coaches play. So what happens at the ranch its over i think its the 3rd stringers that are talking about the ranch. LOL I left my pride and my blue on the field a long time ago the night of the cif game against BG its over grow up move on.
PS I cant belive Whittier Coaching staff is almost the same LOL sorry Whittier cant come up. Their is a diff in High school and pop warner ( thats all have to say ) coaches thier cant even pick the right quarterback to start......(I think number 8 should start) Cal great set of coaches I think that is the place to be has long has Arnold, Padillas, and yes even Louie are coaching. SF who? lol
I would like to know how a hate monger can use the word pathetic towards another person they do not know, and that person only wants to encourage his or her kid or kids in the community to do their best? You said the real dons play elsewhere, how many? Give us some facts, hate is not good enough. Because the fake dons would like to know.GO RANCH!
6th grade Rivera middle school. ER c/o 92’ Please read.
Thomas Jefferson’s proposal for the first free system of public education in Virginia; a promise offered as the balance wheel of society. The most basic of human rights, now because the civil rights movement the promise is for all children regardless socioeconomic status, race, gender, color, disability, all handicapped children. The measure of the worth of a society is how it treats its weakest and most vulnerable citizens. America’s economic, social, and moral strength still depends on it. As the culture changes, the shape of public education should change with it, and the public should be involved in it. After the great depression the New Deal, brought the best of times, our country became great and one thing you can point to is public education from 1-12 & college. Learn our history and become better. I know you can.
Don C/o 92
You couldnt be more wrong about the City of Pico Rivera. Pico Rivera has changes over the years. In the 80's and 90's Pico was infested with gangs. The times have changed, the kids are different. The typical kid in Pico grows up riding skateboards or playing football, or just being a normal kid. Back then it wasnt like that. The average kid grows up in a pretty stable family. Every City has gangs. Whittier, La Habra, La Mirada, fullerton, all have gangs too. I grew up there in the 70's and i went back to my parents house talking to some old neighbors and Many of theier kids are going to the some very good colleges, kids on my old street going to Usc , LMU, Uc Davis, Berkley. Back then only a hand full of us went to college. Being a gang member is not "Cool" anymore. In the 90's the team was full of gang members, Now you got a bunch of Skater kids playing ball that rather hang out at the beach and ride lifted trucks . Most of the Kids now would probably be scared to go to East LA. Times have changed, kids have changed the future looks bright in Pico and hopefully for the team too
If that really is uncle Willie then thats hilarious LOL. Have you seen me defending the school lately genious???
Why all the talk about El Rancho, none of the real alumni care whats going on there now. The only people you see posting on the boards defending the school are Laprep and elrancho those two probably didnt even play football. If they did I bet they were scrubs, move on with your lives. English Quiz, nice correction ACDEMIC, huh?
Great job Proud El Rancho Don, some alumni will be rooting for you, alumni like ER c/o '92 we don't need, always feel like they have to put us down, always looking for the few bad things. How about supporting the boys who do go out & better themselves.
PROUD EL RANCHO DON,
I hope you aren't getting a scholarship in English. Plus if you are getting a full ACADEMIC scholarship you are full of it, because ACDEMIC scholarships for incoming freshmen aren't awarded until February of 09'. Another example of the fine academic progress going on at El Rancho.
"I won’t except you to root for me"
Don't worry I wouldn't EXPECT anyone to root for you either.
Free speech absolutely! Bush & Cheney tried to make our country a banana republic. But they failed; in our great UNITED STATES OF AMERICA you can still express yourself, every comment builds us. ER c/o 92’ you are wrong and full of hate. No other school is any better. Private and public have their challenges, but with the hate that you’re spitting out doesn’t help anyone, I’ll bet you don’t even care. As for kids going elsewhere, that’s been going on and not just at ER at every school even before you and I were born. I am currently enrolled at EL RANCHO and will be graduating 2009 with a full academic scholarship, and I won’t except you to root for me
Louie is a great coach and it would have been awesome to have him on staff, but I really doubt there would have been too much of a difference friday night, the game kinda reminded me of the way we started off against La Serna last season, just spotted em 14 and never really got going offensively. This team still has 4 games left and we cannot throw in the towel just yet... We cannot be this quick to want a coach out, he is only 6 games in and we have seen some positive and some negative from this team, lets give Zepeda the benefit of the doubt and give him some space to work... Lets also remember that this senior class went 1-9 as freshmen....Good things come to those who wait, Just wait for the younger talent to come up, people who have watched Ronnie Lone you know what i'm talking about...
Your sentiments are pathetic, all the real Pico Dons and now Wolverines go play elsewhere. El Rancho is a school in crisis with many gang and tagger problems, they cant kick these kiuds out because the district needs the funds from each kid at the state level. The problem isnt the coaching its the enviroment at the school that is the big issue. Great Pico players are going as far as Servite and Loyola no one cares about ER football anymore. The community is full of criminals, I know their is good people there but their is a horrible problem with all the tagging and gangs in the city. Would you put your kid at a program not very good in football and dealing with those type of issues? I know I wouldnt people wants whats best for their kids and ER isnt it! Sorry to burst your bubble. PS Zamora was offered to stay at ER and he walked away from the kids not the other way around so get your facts straight. He is bouncing around and I doubt the outcome of the games would be any different with him at the helm.
Blue Pride,
In theory your assessment is correct. Louie Zamora bleeds blue and I am sure was feeling a tug at his heart to see El Rancho lose like they did on Friday night. However, the facts remain that Zamora would not have been offered the head coaching job because the job was to be given to a "walk-on" coach. Zamora completed his graduate studies at Whittier College, and was ready for start working as a teacher. El Rancho couldnt offer him nor his staff a teaching position. It would have been disastrous if he would have been given the job, because he would not have had much of a staff. Too much for someone so young. Zepeda is a good guy who was thrown in the fire this season, remember he started one week before spring practice. Also, add to that that there is no booster club, and that the entire coaching staff from top to bottom outside of Sauceda, are walk-ons! We need to exercise patience, this team is young with 35-40 underclassmen. We have had three coaches in three years, let there be some stability and let the coaches coach. I agree with some of your thoughts...Harshbarger should be at corner or safety. But remember, we are depleted at the linebacker position. Velasquez who was expected to contribute was ineligible, Sanchez didnt play, Collindres I believe is out for the season, Turner lacks aggressiveness this season...what is a coaching staff to do? I concur with your other statement regarding Baldwin and some of the younger players. I would like to see if he could handle some carries out of the running back position.
Lastly, I think the coaching staff will receive additional assistance at the end of the season. I expect this process to take two to three years to fully implement Zepeda's vision. Lets support out team win or lose.
My thoughts,
LAP
BLUE PRIDE; The Ranch loves your passion but those Alums have new jobs now and we hope the best for them all. And we will always be proud of them that will never change!!!!!!!!!
Thanks but we can all tell which is La Habra. They are the ones with more rings!!!!
The biggest mistake that was made was not securing Louie Zamora on the ER staff. I don't care what anyone says, things at the ranch have to be done the ranch way, not the st paul way, or the arroyo way, they have to be done the ranch way!! There is no blue pride left, there is no coach that could preach it like Louie could, yes Ted Aguirre, Jonathan Allen and Gary Rico are on staff, they were great players that represented the ranch greatly and will be good ones in the future, but they are freshmen coaches and they just cannot do enough yet. Arnold, Zamora, Ramirez, Ruiz, Mando Padilla, and Mario Padilla all used to coach at ER, we need to ask ourselves, why aren't these guys still coaching at ER??? Not only did the Cal Hi kids have a chip on their shoulder on friday, most of all the coaches wanted to show their old school just what they missed out on... It was no secret what our weakness is on defense, Zamora and the Cal staff knew exactly how to exploit it with Terris Jones, we need to stop this no matter what it takes...
Its interesting to see that in 2000 Greg Setlich came in and one of his big selling points was to play like the ranch of old running the wing-t which is the Pico Rivera and TC offense, and to restore tradition, that was a great year and it looked like we were back on track. He left us after one year and we brought in good ole uncle willie, he wanted to do things the Arroyo way and we were left with a destroyed program. Lets go back to 2007 Gene Parsons comes in with an all ER staff, we may not have had a perfect year, but it was a memorable year where you could feel the tradition, the brotherhood and most of all you could feel the blue pride. Just like Setlich, Parsons preached tradition and blue pride and it was a great year. Maybe Rick Zepeda was the wrong choice for ER, maybe we need to give him some more time, but I dam well do wish either Jim Arellanes or Louie Zamora were leading the ranch...
The type of kids at the ranch have not changed, the only thing that has changed is the coach that really taught these kids what it really takes to play for the ranch. We need to be hard nosed and fearless. Kids at the ranch used to like to hit and did not care if the other team was bigger than them, it seems like we are trying to avoid hitting these days. The teams in the 90's at ER were not very big but they still played very well, that 1991 team with Romo, Loera, Arellanes, Garcia was not very big at all, and they were a great team.
Galan needs to play both ways, we cannot wait till we are down 3 tds to put him in, the other kid we got in there will not come up and make a tackle... Also, Anthony Ayala and Galan or Aldecoa should be returning kickoffs, the kids we have in there are not going to get the job done. Harshbarger needs to play his natural position... We need to throw Baldwin and some of the young kids into the fire, we have some young talented kids that are gamers and might show us something. On the freshmen level we went 9-1 in 2006 and 8-2 in 2007, i'm sure there is some talent at ER, let it shine dammit!!!!
They day we go back to fundamentals like tackling, blocking, and executing will be the day we start playing like the ranch of old, till then we will continue to be what we are.....
Cal> Del Rio
Cal vs ST PAUL, Cal would lose big and end their football program!! We're not La Harbra!!!!
Matador 777
I hear what you’re saying, but what is it that we should face? Don’t support our school, our community, our future citizens or look at change as a bad thing, no progression? I would like to know how you know they have egos. I ask you do you only wear La Mirada apparel when they are winning?
Rich
I wish I could answer your question but only cal's coaching staff can answer that one.. St. Paul vs. Cal would be a great game
Let's see many of cals coaches are el rancho alum and a handful of players grew up in pico Rivera. The demographics in pico have changed. The players are not these hard nosed tough guy attitudes. Just a bunch of soft players with egos. Er alum need to face the factS this is a different generation and a different breed of kids
Solid coaching is the key on building a program with a solid rock foundation. No vision or constant new vision is like building a house of cards with a strong wind coming, rebuilding never stops. Are we disappointed yes. As an alumni ER’s lost was to the better team clearly. This week is another game with an opportunity of competing. Let’s support our kids. Go Ranch!
My opinion - El Rancho in its history has had to fight year in & year out from the 60’s 70’s 80’s 90’s and so on. We never had a factory that produce players & teams without putting the work in. A bad year went to a great year that year went to a good year and so on. I’m not being negative. Why should we expect something different? The consistency years had a steady hand of coaching. This is nothing new it works everywhere. Exception to this thought yes but few. TRUE ER ALUM sounds like a phony. I agree Say What!
Perhaps soo..Cal might romp on them but I just put this up so that Del Rio league gets a bit more exposure and an oppurtunity for some of the kids to get noticed and get on tv
and yes its obvious that Santa Fe, Cal, and La Serna are obviously the better teams in the league. it will be interesting to see them play it out for the league championship :]

Cal hi, Why wont you play ST.PAUL Pioneer & el rancho did. Are you soft? Hummm or maybe your full of your self.Another SF!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cal
Why should we vote for Cal v. Pioneer game? Pioneer's defense sucks and its offense has struggled at times due to injuries. Cal's offense will do the same thing Cypruss did to Pioneer and run them to the ground. Pioneer's offense will probably score 20+ points, maybe (Cal's defense is tough), but score will be similar to La Serna v. Pioneer.
I'm more inclined to vote for Edison v. Los Alamitos game.
My thoughts on Del Rio League
1. Santa Fe
2. La Serna
3. Cal
4. Pioneer
5. Whittier
6. El Rancho
There is great possibility that there will be a 3 way split for Del Rio League Champs this year. Wild card will not go to 4th place Del Rio League team. All three bottom teams preseason records are terrible.
True ER Alumni,
your post was hard to read. please do not use double negatives and CAPS LOCK all the time. I hope this has been enlightening (sp?) Thank you come again.
El Rancho struggled last night, more so than in any other game I have seen this season. Patience is the word for those who are starting to point fingers at the coaching staff. Cal Hi is a good team, excellent defense, but beatable. This was not El Rancho's night nor does it look like it will be their year. Good luck to all Del Rio teams.

Vote to get the Pioneer @ Cal Hi game hilights on Fox...
http://media.myfoxla.com/foxhilites/
go on the click here to vote for the thursday games and its the first one...for some reason it doesnt show up on the page, but it is there! THANK YOU spread the word please!!
THANX A LOT FOR YOUR HARD WORK AS WELL MURRAY :]
elrancho I'm sure you have a lot of love ones, and maybe everyone on this blog loves you as they sould! But you need to see a doctor these up and downs need to stop. It will effect or control your entire life. In football both teams want to win. Cal won big.
Murray, Campa, and that fool who just wrote the most recent article about Santa Fe's game last night.
I really don't think that #74 (I don't know his name. I'll check the roster and get back to ya) gets enough credit.
He fights on offense & defense, and recently has been on special teams with the kickoffs.
He doesn't have huge numbers, but he has numbers across the board.
Tackles, yards for loss, sacks--especially the two last night
He's everywhere. You have to give credit to somebody who bangs like he does and keeps on working. He barely gets a break during the game.
You guys don't mention our defense as much as you should either--THEY ARE BEASTS....Turner doesn't win the games by himself...
Just checked Santa Fe's program....the kid's name is Nick Finney
Great game Cal our hats and helmets go off to you. Good luck. You own all bragging rights!
CAn we get A BIG STORY ABOUT ST. PAUL .... THEY PLAY SOME OF THE BEST TEAMS THE LA TIMES WRITE ABOUT, DONT MEAN TO PUT OTHER HIGH SCHOOLS DOWN IN THE AREA , THESE HIGH SCHOOLS DONT PLAY ( SANTA FE LA SERNA OR LA HABRA ) WELL KNOWN PROGRAMS. CAN ST. PAUL EVER GET A COLOR PIC AND A WRITE UP THAT INCLUDES DEFENSIVE PLAYERS OR EVEN THE KICKER THAT I BELIEVE HASNT MISSED THIS YEAR.
Good job Condors, you took care of the FIRST league game. You did look impressive on both sides of the ball, but don't get all full of yourselves just yet. The Ranch looked horrible, I was surprised at just how soft they played. ER onsiding with 3:00 to play with the score 45-7 just after you finally scored against our scrubs, PLEASE. Is that what you have been reduced too?
Roger, Stern does have a tendency to miss some easy kicks but, as of the last couple of games, he seems to be way more solid on everything. As long as the snap & hold is good, he is for the most part money. If we get inside the 40, we have a great chance for 3. Not too many teams have that advantage. The kickoffs are a HUGE for the defense. You will have to go 80 in order to score. Keep up the good work Stern, I look forward to seeing you at the next level and winning a couple league games with your leg. BTW, our junior Tyler, he is just about as good. Your time will come #4.
The team that wins this league will be the toughest, keep working hard & you will get there Cal. Don't forget last year, anybody can beat you if you are not prepared & you don't bring it. Pioneer next, one at a time.
I CANT NOT BELIEVE THE TURN AROUND ER HAS MADE. IT MAKES ME SICK. ALL I CAN SAY IS CONGRATS TO CAL THATS THE PLACE WHERE ALL THE BEST ER COACHES ARE AND BEST ALUMNI COACHES ARE. I AGREE WITH BIG A "As for El Rancho, there was no heart, no defense, no commitment!!! Im disappointment!!!" I HAVE SPENT MY TIME READING THE BLOGS HERE AND I DONT THINK ER IS PLAYING THAT ER BALLS OUT FOOTBALL WE PLAYED. WE TOOK EVERYTHING PERSONAL RIGHT DOWN TO OUR JERSEYS, HAIRCUT, VARSITY ROOM AND FIELD. I REMEMBER WHEN KIDS WILL PROTECTED ALL OF ER. THE PADILLAS ARE MASTERMINDS ON THE FIELD ITS A SHAME THAT ER LET THEM GO AND NEVER GAVE THEM A SHOT HAS HEAD COACHES. LOUIE IS A SMART DEFENSE OF COACH AND PLAYER A BIG LOOSE TO THOSE KIDS. HERE WE GO AGAIN I SMELL ANOTHER REYNA ERA AT ER:( ALL OF ER PLAYERS WHAT HAPPEN TO TALKING WITH YOUR HELMETS OTHER ALUMINS SHUT UP BECAUSE THOSE KIDS ARE NOT TALKING. (DONT JOIN IN ON THE CRAP TALKING)
WHAT HAPPEN TO BLEEDING BLUE???
Was @ the Cal VS. ER game,
and trust me i havent seen a football team as strong as Cal. They have a strong defense.
Cal is going to repeat as Del Rio league champions.
As for El Rancho, there was no heart, no defense, no commitment!!! Im disappointment!!!
The Ranch rolled all right...rolled right into the loss column
good win for the condors :]
Wow is all I can say about this game, and this team, and this season, and this school... once proud alumni.... its over......
Aldecoa ready to go!!! Ranch rolls tonight!!!
