Oilers' choice for coach well accepted.

Aside from momentary early reactions, it appears Montebello's pick for head football coach, Pete Gonzalez, is welcomed by a large portion of the Oilers' faithful.
That's the way it should be.
And that's nice.

Guess who back...ME Servite. Who ever said "sorry i give up" ur an idiot. That wasn't me. Anyways, What im trying to say to the Qiler nation is you don't have tradition and pride....yet. You Get no respect from anyone, You haven't earn it. It's all up to the playes not the parents. When practice is over stay another hour in the gym....stay together has a team and complete ur homework...Come up with ur own tradition and be proud, but its all up to you, the players. remember, I sat at ur practice, I saw u walking of the field instead of running off.( the football field is sacred)I saw u guys on the sideline with ur helmets off...I saw u guys walking off the field to drink water. Now what i said last time about SP was true...they have Heart and their frickin Tough...Go watch them practice...u never see the sit or w/ their helmets off. They know that they play for themselfs, the school and the alumni- They have pride.

Just like the elite schools.lol sorry guys.

Look at St.Paul on game day and what they wear.A suit and tie.
The jersey is sacred and only should be worn on the field. Gameday Sp never leave the campus...they put on their War Face and stay focus.

I hope u oilers become a school w/ pride and tradition...And kick azz...So when i read the blogs and see oiler pride I won't laugh. Its up to players not the parents. Good luck.

Elite school (servite) instead of hahaha what about – yeah yeah yeah? But you’re a lawyer right or do you fetch the coffee? You could still call yourself a go getter lol. I remember you last year, didn’t you try to win an augment with a St. Paul kid last year and you incited your wife’s place of employment, like that matters lol. Mr. “40” something go back to school or a half way house. Please let us talk sports. I say good luck big Pete and give them hell with the x’s and o’s. Go Oilers!!! We got a pseudo lawyer lol watching us, lock the gates! Shut the windows and let the dogs out!!

I m sure you know the answer to this question “Servite”, what does Jeffrey Dalmer and Juan Corona have in common? Now this may seem like a conundrum but it’s easy I’ll help, it’s not that they became omnivores in the horrific sense. Nor is it that they preyed on the young and vulnerable. But more appalling they went to an all boys’ catholic school, the so-call elite school that you are so obnoxious about. And they felt privileged above everyone. One word….Omnipotent, now my word “nihilistic”. I ask does the place of employment make a person vibrant and magnanimous or is it that when we see people whom we’ve had no contact with, but first believe they have (humans) value? Even Jeffrey and Juan had at one time enormous promise and opportunity for a fulfilling life. So “above all” you (servite) respect all kids and school programs because we need every one of them. Football is around the corner, let’s all get ready. Enjoy the season.

I believe no school teaches that at least I hope, so you must of lean it on your own. I’m sorry to say get some help Mr. elite schools. I realize now and then predators come to prey on the young so please don’t attend any grade schools. Go oilers!!

hahaha...I didn't go to St.Paul. Although I think St.Paul Stinks, I respect them. I played against them in the 80's. They have no size, no speed , no talent.
but what they do have is heart, and among the elite schools (Servite) we respect that, We hate them but respect the football program. Now, you bash on SP thats fine, but i work at law firm w/ people that graduated from Sp...the only people i encounter from MHS is well i can't say i do. I guess not too many become attorneys. sorry. I was getting some work down on my vehicle a block away from MHS, I thought I might attend ur Practice. One word....Pathetic.

go ahead oiler.

Ok sp swordswomen “anony”. Why are you at MHS practice? Maybe because the old new coach lol at sp has nothing? Hey you got pride right? And social instability and you’re feeling disorientated, I understand and can recognize you’re wanting to be at our practice. Now a day’s people are running from sp even the alumni, and it's not because the old classrooms are about to fall.

Hey Oiler Dad,

My son is a part of this program too so why don't you go & investigate yourself just like I did before you start posting nonsense. There are over 90 kids right now trying to become a part of this program & 5 of them are girls. Don't you remember our starting linebacker in the frosh team last year was a girl?

Are you a true Oiler dad or another "anonymous" post?

Anyways, I hope none of the kids are a problem for you because we are loyal to all of our own in Oilerville so get with the program. Keep it real & true dude don't ruin our site!

We have Oiler Pride!!! Get with it!!! GO OILERS!!!

Mike MHS Fan/Supporter/Parent said:

Again, you post as "anonymous" but when I stated talk real football I meant x's & o's so relax with the record.

I think the Oiler family knows our record & that is exactly why we are so glad that we got Coach Pete & staff because the kids are ready to work!

As a matter of fact my son started study hall this week, grade checks were due last week & he said that Coach Pete told all of them that he doesn't cut anybody because players cut themselves but if you are willing to work hard in the classroom & on the field then the Oiler program is the way to go for everybody!!!

So, "anonymous" keep doing what you do best & hide behind your computer, with the name calling & hate because you have no idea where we will be at the end of the season so becareful what you wish for LOL...

GO OILERS!!!

Hey Oiler Dad,

Coach Gonzales has opened up the opportunity to play football at Montebello to Students whom didn`t play last year or who have never played. You never know, maybe there is a couple of good athlete`s in that bunch. As for the girls, well what can you do? not let them play and get bad puiblicity behind it, not smart. Let them come out and see what happens. They our working as hard in the weight rooms as the boy`s. Just be supportive, there is nothing to investigate.
Let your son know that a little competition is good because it brings out the best in a athlete. Something that`s been lacking the last few years at Montebello.

I'm not talking about SP. I'm talking about you guys. I could give a damn about SP.

You got it right, Montebello has never been considered a power and never will be. You guys are #3 in our own town. Actually, #4 as I think the Schurr JV can take you guys down.

Oiler Dad said:

My son said that this new coach is just letting anyone join the football team including a lot of females. He has 12 Varsity coaches, but no lower level staff. HUH? What is going on? Where is the Oiler Pride? I invite everyone to investigate this new program!

Oilerville said:

Funny how you say were #3. What's even funnier is that we were never ever considered a power house like St.Paul. Now look at SP program and school. All in shambles! It's only a matter of time before the doors are shut. So continue to pick at our school all you want but in the end you will be at Oilerville watching football like the rest of us. Unless you want to play bingo on Thursday night's at Our Lady Of St.Paul......

You know, I'll give you the loyalty thing but to say to take my crap elsewhere unless I want to talk some real football?

Are you kidding me?

Based on the Oilers record for the last 5 years you wouldn't know real football if you saw it.

Oilers record since 2004:

2004 3-7
2005 4-6
2006 3-7
2007 2-8
2008 4-6

At least you guys are consistent. New staff or not I foresee another losing season. Face it, you guys are #3 even in your own town behind Schurr and Cantwell. Schurr has got your number.

What is Gil Jimenez going to do? I think if he got a Head Coaching job we would of heard it by now!!! Most of the Head Coaching positions are filled by now!!! Does Ancich want him to coach at St. Paul??? I do not think so!!!

He will show up somewhere as an assistant coach probably.

He had his shot as a Head Football Coach at Glenn. He beat some real weak teams in pre-season, then I believe he went 0 and 6 in the Suburban League and quit!!
He should have stayed and tried to build a decent program from a terrible one. They were terrible when he got there and terrible when he left!!
There were some real weak teams in that league (at that time) like Cerritos, Artesia (La Serna beat them by 50 points), and Norwalk.

Dusan Ancich coached at Cerritos before Cal-hi and made a decent team out of them. Norm Flowers returned to coach Artesia and took a terrible team and made them very good (it was his second time coaching Artesia = he was there in the late 90's and they were pretty good). He knows how to use 4 or 5 good athletes (like Lewis in 06 and 07) and build a team around them. Norwalk got a new coach at that time and has improved considerably.

Jimenez had a chance to do the same.

If you're all so happy and opinionated about Gonzalez leaving, then so be it! he won't be there to bring you ANOTHER championship... and if Coach Gil is getting all the accolades from that glory, why isn't he staying at the mighty "PIT"? probobly because he has half a brain and knows that "ancient 1970's plays" don't work in this century! I posted the phone # to the CIF office & you say that you called? Good because now everyone is going to see that you are full of crap & how you start trouble just like the typical SP alumni haters that we have been warned about!

The real question is did you contact Coach Pete like I also suggested because I called him & he said that no one has contacted him! So, if you are so worried then call him because what I'm going to do is every time you post I will call Coach Pete & ask him if you have called him?

Grow up & stop hiding behind your computer like the rest of those cowards! All we see is the drama from SP people accusing/hating/lying...business as usual...

Go on the ST Paul blog and spread your hate there. Leave Montebello High School and the kids alone. You should be very happy to have gotten rid of coach Gonzales so leave it be. You really need to worry about SP and all the drama that is already going on with football staff. Good Luck and hopefully Good Bye.

Oilerville said:

Told You?

We don't care what you sorry group of SP haters think. We will support this new coach and give him the fresh start that he deserves. No wonder your school is in disarray. You as a group do nothing but act like school girls. all you do is complain , complain, complain. Why worry about CIF coming down? Don't you think that our administration looked before they hired? Don't you think people like Doug Rihn has the common sense to make good decisions? He has been the staple of oiler football for twenty sum years.
The difference between our schools is that we move on and try to get better. You guys cry about what happened to you and make stupid comments. Your school will be a all girls school in no time. It's common knowledge that it will happen. "Our lady of St.Paul" it has a nice ring to it. In the long run we will win. And you guys will point fingers and blame everyone you can for all your inmature stupid reasons. Grow up and move on!

Oilerville 81 said:

That will be great if the CIF office makes a visit, because as for now the kids that are likely coming have started to make the moves and have nothing to fear. All schools receive transfers and for the most part it’s always ok. Coaches know the ins and outs they aren’t going to break the rules. Believe me everything is going find. Montebello is going to be tough to beat. Everyone in the city is gonna be very happy.

Good Luck MHS. I hope your school does well against their local rivals.

???? Division Placement ??? Mr. Murray, could you please explain how teams are ranked or placed in divisions? Is it just how well they do in a division so many years in a row or does school size get taken into account? I've never really understood it and since someone brought it up regarding the baseball/softball ranks, just interested.

MHS supporter said:

This is so ridiculous all these people who have a comment but we dont care. MHS is better off we don't point our fingers towards St. Paul so the St. Paul people should just worry about their own kids. Time Will Tell said:

Time will tell. The folks at MH will find out, not at first but as the season goes on, the parents and players will find out his true colors.
I don’t think Coach Gil will go with him simply because he wants to separate him self from what could get ugly there. Coach Gil is the guy that made things happen over at SP.
Coach Gil will be successful where ever he goes. Good luck MH.

Oh, I forgot your just like the SP alumni haters on these blogs that are cowards hiding behind a computer & calling MHS behind Pete's back starting crap like usual well guess what NO ONE here cares??? All of you SP people are a joke!!

Keep your crap at SP & if Pete's so bad like you say why do you worry that the kids will follow??? You said it yourself he is a terrible coach & he is nothing without Gil so get lost! Stay at SP & worry about winning games over there & keeping your own kids.

St. Paul baseball # 3 in CIF? Well, they should be number 2. Come on, St Paul competing in Division 5. That is ridiculous, and they still cant win it.

Put them where they belong. They pull from all over the area. Move them up just two divisions to division 3. They would not compete at that level.

They are competing in one of the lowest levels in CIF. Look what Fitzimmons did at St. Paul, he made it to the finals. Now at Yesterdays powerhouse "Villa Park", nothing. The present coach at La Serna "nothing". Now at Division 5 === Powerhouse.
Come on CIF office, get it together.

An locally being rated # 1 in the Daily news is no accomplishment for St. Paul. They should be #1 because of all the areas they draw from.

Can you tell me why is pete calling the QB and RB from last years SP. team, asking them to transfer to Montebello. One lives in Pico the other in Whittier. What's wrong pete can't win with the homegrown montebello kids. So what you are saying is the kids from montebello high are not good enough to win you a championship. Have you tried calling any of the Mayfair kids, they would fit in at montebello LOL.

Come on oiler fans open your eyes. Pete is not that much better than the coach you had there before, will he win more games yes is he going to lead montebello to the championship no. If it was not for Gil J and the transfers there would not be a championship at ST. Paul, and who brought in those transfers, Robert Castaneda not pete.

Pete tell your brother joey and your coaching staff to stay off the blogs you know they have a history of getting on the blog and saying how great you are under different names.

It is about time someone with a football background comes to lead the Oilers. MHS has not had a decent football coach since the late 1990's for whatever reason. I am actually surprised the Athletic Director did not leave with the old football coach (since he was the one who hired him with minimal coaching experience).

With the new football facilities at Montebello - the new coach should be able to attract good athletes.

Good luck and let's get back on top where we belong.
