Wow it was only a summer league game! Pioneer and Whittier went at it. Whittier won by 5pts. Whittier picked the right guy for the job. Keep up the hard work Coach Mata.

4 children = 3 boys and a girl. None of which were "big time athletes" as Ryan thinks he was. That does not mean part of them were not good enough to make teams...... Therefore we parents were part of booster clubs. Notice that I do not use comments like "drunk" or "moron" or any of the terms your "solid team" does. That is because I know when name calling comes to play "you are beat".

You do not have to have coached in high school to know right from wrong, that parents thinking "god" is going to come down and coach at whs are influenceing the school to ask coaches to resign or whatever (fire), or oppositely "hold on" to a sub average coach.

VAROS fired Coach LaVoi. Sounds like whittier is trying to fix the athletics there. I follow whittier sports. Guy didn't even schedule refs or umpires for lower level football or baseball games on several occasions resulting in delays and even forfeits. Wow. Whats that he didn't show up or send a representative to the all league meeting for his on kids either? Wow! How ironic one guy you are sticking up for is responsible for the problems the other guys are having. And guess what VAROS was in charge of getting rid of Flores too. He was still athletic director. The athletic directer is responsible for the athletic program. Varos is the reason Lavoie's gone.

Why bag on coach scott? I here nothing but good things about him from ex players. whs staff and the two most respected long term coaches in the league that would know. Coach Mahlstede and Coach Juarez sing his praise. Before you get on me I'm a Santa Fe guy. The fact is Whittier and Pioneer don't get the athletes the other schools get. Its just a plain fact! That doesn't mean they don't get talent but year in year out.

Yes there is something wrong with 4 baseball coaches in 4 years which is what whittiers looking at. Why not ask Varos whats up he did the hiring and the firing lol. Not to mentioned his coaching? What has he done since his first two years with kids he inherited from other coaches? less then a 35% winning percentage. Wow. Impressive.

Finally why show disrespect to some son that sticks up for his father? Especially when you took cheap shots "or does he kiss the right ass" or "the stupid security guard thing" Im pretty sure the son is or was a police officer that responded to a car accident my wife had that took place in santa fe springs. Serious car accident. If it wasn't for those officers my wife might be dead. This event took place in 2007. So I can't help but say good things about him. Thanks Officer Scott. Don't let this guy get you down. I'm glad to see you are true to family and want to stick up for good people like Mrs. Longo. By the way the way the young man didn't write anything bad about you in his first blog. The only thing he said bad about you was that your comments on a Mrs Longo were classless. I'll agree with one thing Whittier's athletic program needs to improve. But I think they are heading in the right direction. New athletic directors and clean things up. Hired a good basketball coach. Sounds like Coach Flores just got caught in the cross fire and Coach LaVoi sorry that Varos was incapable of doing a good job.

That being said the Chiefs will still dominate Whittier. lol. Always

I'm done with you. I never lied. I played basketball freshman thru junior year. 2 basketball letters. I was in and out of the starting lineup junior year. Victim of four coaches four years like you complain about with the baseball program. Didn't play basketball my senior for two reason. One To concentrate on track which i excelled at. And two because Varos discouraged the football players to play. Three returning Varsity Basketball players didn't play for that reason. One other being a starter. Ask other players about the problem. i.e. Travanti Ross, Moises Garcia, Daniel Enriquez, A.J. Hickey, Alec Campos, Anthony Esqueda,list goes on and on. All players have told me they thought they were seriosly discouraged and either quit or rode it through on the bench. It is what it is. But I haven't lied about one thing on here.

By the way the turnover in coaching has a lot to do with the turnover in principles and vice principles at Whittier. Tons of Vice principle and even a few principle changes. Whittier has plenty of problems. Hard for them to keep good adminstrators. Please don't try to call out liars here. I comprehend find trust me. Maybe your unaware of the tone that you write with. I saw zero whs baseball games this year and no practices. Did see 2 or 3 games last year. Who will coach this next season? Will God come down and do it? I doubt it. Do you expect to get a great coach? Seldom found are great coaches in their first couple of years.

Hey, I am just comparing WHS to other schools in the area, and in baseball the number of changes is ridiculous. 4 in 5 years. Not going to build something that way. Come on "bloggers versus sports fan original." NAME ONE! ONE SCHOOL IN THE AREA THAT WILL HIRE ITS FOURTH COACH IN A FIVE YEAR SPAN. Show me some statistics. Not just word of mouth.

I realize I am outnumbered many, many to one on this blog, but playing ball at Cal Poly and in high school has really helped me deal with competition. As a matter of fact I love it.

I have heard, and I still believe a few parents have a he_ _ of a lot of influence at WHS. Longo is one. I am still trying to influence parents of players that like the coach they play for to stand up to their opposition. Two or three "very important people" can really influence an "unknowing" administration. And that influence does not even close to always help the athletes.

Well time will tell about Whittier baseball. But I would not doubt if the Cardinals have a couple of below average seasons it will be the coaches fault again.

Never said Coach Scott was not a good assistant! Assisting and "directing" = two different ballgames. Statistics speak for themselves.

Ryan Scott: why the lies? 3 sports? Which winter sport? Yes I do read the paper! Never saw your name in the basketball boxes! WHY LIE?

And "all league" == I have a buddy whose kid (Santa Fe) was all league in 2001. And as a matter of fact I grew up in the Whittier area and know a heck of a lot of parents of high school athletes and ex high school athletes. When did you make all league? If you are counting "honorable mention" as your name is listed on the certificate good. That means your coach put you up for all league and you did not get enough votes for 1st or 2nd team. YOU WERE MENTIONED. Boy when you are my age you probably would have been all CIF and League Player of the year.

As for college ball. I played and learned many life skills at Cal Poly Pomona baseball under one of the winningest coaches in college baseball history and legend Coach John Scolinas. I also graduated.

It appears so in your case. How do you know more then the people in charge if you admit yourself you don't know the coach? Tell me something? So i think you have credibilty. Something other then you have been to a lot of games and your kids were on teams. What percentage of games did you attend of whittier's baseball team this year? How many practices? You don't know whats going on. Nobody wants 4 coaches in four years. but hey then they need to hire the right guy the first time can't go back into the past. Been following your blogs on this subject and the whittier christian and i must say your quite the judgemental and opinionated person. You seem to insinuate that that nobody on here is educated. I know a couple of people that posted on here and they have college degrees. Perhaps you see them as ignorant because they do not have "GOOD" degrees as yourself. I myself have a doctorate in philosophy. Not to brag! Just so you do not presume i am unedicated like you do everyone else on this block. Lets go over some of the things you have mentioned on these blogs before you claim people are all interpreting you wrong.

First off you presumed that Coach Mata never played varsity basketball. Turns out you were wrong. Had to apologize. You definitely insinuated that beacuase an individual was a security guard they weren't qualified to be a coach. Read it you wrote it. Quiet demeaning to Coach Mata's proffesion. Had to apologized again. Once again you assumed Coach Scott wasn't a big part of Coach Fitch's success. By saying "Coach Fitch and company" Sorry Coach Scott vice president of that company you were talking about (defensive coordinator). Assumed Coach Scott's son wasn't all league when i know both of his son's were all league in at least two sports apiece and both were all league for three years straight on the varsity level. Don't know which one is which but the older one was particulary dominant and played college football. Noticing a pattern yet. Assuming that you know more about whats going on at these programs then the people here. I'm glad to know that you think your qualified to know who should stay and who should go based on by your own admission your observation from a distance. Well unless your at practice and behind the scenes. what do you know? Or is one of these coaches a personal friend. No one is gonna argue that whittier has a great athletic program. But do you know the reasons why these people were complaining or why the coaches left for sure? If so awnser me with detail otherwise you don't know so shut up.

Another thing calling a woman out on there weight? You sir are pathetic. What was your justification again? Beacause another person had mention them in their blog? So are you assuming again that she wrote on here or that she did anything but read these blogs and just agree with the opinions about the basketball coach that the blogger did? Ryan Scott: I did mean to be done some time ago, but you, and other Anonymous's continued to direct your comments about me! On my June 8th blog I said things were off my concept of parental influence. So I said I would stop using personal references.

Then on June 16th (look back) Anonymous again used person slurs toward me. There is a difference between me referring to "parental involvement" and "personal slurs you and others directed at sports fan original". Scott if you are educated you should be able to read back and notice that now, so our indifferences can be settled. I am a high school graduate and former assistant coach at whittier high school. When I attended Whittier high i was a three sport athlete and the Bob Chandler and Sportsman of the year recepient. I've been around Whittier high school athletics since 1989. With out a doubt Mrs. Longo is the most positive influence in regards to parent support Whittier high school has. She is a godsend. She has fund raised thousands of dollars and spent countless hours putting together game day programs for the football and basketball teams each year. Plus organizing banquets. You are wrong about parents being involved at whittier. The problem is that whittier has hardly any involvement from parents whats so ever. Thank God Longo has picked up the slack. I know for a fact she has never blogged on here. So I don't know why you would think it is appropriate to call a women out about her weight. shows absolutely no class on your part. What an example you are setting for the kids that read these blogs. I agree with a blogger before me that noticed that you called out coach mata and coach scott for being security guards. What do you do to judge someone elses proffesion. What are you barrack obama's adviser. A security officer at a high school campus is an honorable proffesion. Both coaches had impressive coaching resumes and were whittier alumni and have put in countless volunteer time into whittier athletics. And both coaches are well respected amongst rival coaches. We intrust the security with our most important things in life. Our children. You have negative things to say about all kinds of people how sad. I feel sorry for you. Also i question you hipocritical comments. Saying that parents should mind there own buisness when it comes to coaching and then call out a coach at the same school for his performance. Accusing specific coaches of kissing ass. Coaches you know nothing about. If kissing ass is spending countless hours dedicated to student athletes on and of the field. Heck maybe they should choose the principles and superintendants as well. When i was seventeen i liked the teachers that taught the least and gave me easy classes. And i know many young kids think that way because they are kids. Doesn't mean it was right. the guy who coached pioneer is saldana. they beat downey who is probably the best team in that summer league. If pioneer was smart they would keep him because its the easiest transition for the kids, most of his jv team is moving up anyways so it will help keep pioneer competitive. If they go with a new coach with a new system the kids will take a step back and since pioneer is allready at a disavantage with talent that would not help the program.

Mata does have a good thing at whittier, he looked like he was more agressive out there should be interesting when pioneer plays whittier in summer which is the last game of summer league by that time pioneer can be a really good team or a whole new team trying to start over

Last night I was at Santa Fe H.S. watching some basketball. Whittier played St.Paul and blasted St. Paul by 34 pts. Coach Mata walked into a good thing at Whittier. He has some young player that are pretty good.

Pioneer played right after Whittier. The Grey hair guy who's coaching the team right now did a good job with the Titans. I belive that coach, coached there JV team last year. Pioneer should keep him. I can't wait for when Pioneer and Whittier meet this summer is should be a great game. Both teams played very hard.

You are quite a philosopher!! The problem with philosophers is the information they speak is not based on any type evidence. If we were still basing our "truths" on what philosophers said we would still think the earth is flat and the sun revolves around the earth!

I am using my experienced abilities to pick out people like you, people who enjoy the power of having pretty good people fired, and take part in a negative way by influencing high school administrations to get rid of hard working, only sometimes caring coaches.

Recent examples of this type of parents include La Serna's firing of Manzo and Whittier High School's firing of LaVoie (who did a pretty good job at a none baseball school over the last 4 or 5 years and had a pretty good group of varsity players returning for his third season) I know about Whittier's very good seasons in the early 2000's. The latest is the group of parents on these blogs that have threatened Coach Morales at St. Paul. All season they have done this because they lose to a legitimate powerhouse Bishop Amat.

Cal State Fullerton's coaching staff is not going to come to our area and coach baseball. That much I know for sure. Be happy with what the kids have and stop stabbing the coach in the back.

if you like Saldana and other players do also, you should get the parents together and try to have a "positive influence" on the administration regarding Saldana.

Otherwise all they will hear are the negatives from parents, and the result is a "slim" chance they will hire him. If you guys want him then try to go get him. Do not let the negative parents, or whoever, win out on you like they do at some other schools.

Yes i played for Coach Mata last year, and I was hoping i could of played for him this upcoming season. He took the job at Whittier. The team will miss him, I would like to thank him for everything. Thank you for making me understand how to respect the sport of basketball. Coach Saldana is coaching us right now and we hope he gets the job. And why is Mr. Uribe calling parent and bad talking Coach Saldana, I DON"T UNDERSATAND why. Once again thank you Coach Mata for a great 3 year as my coach.

coach mata knows what he is doing and needs to stick with what works and that was his original coaches that have always been there and helped build the program.. whether or not there were problems coach naudin,saldana,and spain were the original coaches that helped mata that build his program

mata did have some coaches change over the years that may have helped or hinder progress...(Coop,kennedy)but those one and done coaches tried to take over

mata was at his best when he was in control listening to his assistants and making the calls himself trust yourself you are a good coach no matter who is helping the kids didnt always like you but they respected you

I wish your brother the best at Whittier! I believe there is a lot of "PARENTAL INFLUENCE" at Whittier. TOO MUCH!! Of course that has been the MAJOR CONCEPT of my blogs! By reading these blogs I realize there is the same problem at Pioneer. But it appears that Pioneer "stuck with" the coach they hired. And the results were positive in that Coach Joey Mata had much better statistics than Sorry Jim Dion or whoever took over for him before Joey got the job. I know I have done the "security guard" thing but I also realize that the Pioneer program was much more successful under Joey. That says alot.

I do agree with you on one thing: I think I know more than I know. My wife tells me that often! I have gotten better at home but I really do believe I know more than most about high school sports and what goes on "within the system". By "within the system" I am talking about the selection of coaches (careful selection or choosing anyone) and the environmental factors that influence the programs outside the school (like parental influence) etc.

I DO NOT CARE AT ALL WHAT YOU THINK OF ME!! That is why I continue to blog. I believe in what I am trying to do:
SELL AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE THAT THERE IS WAY TOO MUCH PARENTAL INFLUENCE IN HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS!

I use Whittier high school as an example often because I think Whittier is a very important part of our communtity. It is in the center of town and I grew up in the Whittier sports system.

I still (even though my sons are older) pay plenty of attention to youth leagues and have spoken some of the baseball players at Whittier. They liked the last two coaches. Brent LaVoi was well liked by the players, played under an ex major leaguer at Biola, and was fairly successful at Whittier. He had some experienced players coming back to Whittier this season, his third at the school. They were to be "his players brought up in his system". One parent complained (The parent of the best player, Rubalcava I think his name was) and transferred his kid back to Northview.

Next step: get rid of Brent LaVoie. I watched several games: they knew how to play "little ball" and how to defend it. They were well coached.

New coach this year! Fired. I heard there was good reason for getting rid of Flores, but this is two years in a row. It is not like coaches are lining up to coach at whittier. And now the seniors have their third coach in three years.

Cal's Nieto got many complaints over the years but the administration worked with him and for good reason. He played in college, has solid knowledge of the game, and has improved his relations with players. THEY WORKED WITH HIM. THEY DID NOT FIRE HIM FIRST! THEY WORKED WITH HIM. And the results: very good!!

Good job Calhi Administration!

Parents should support by being a booster: fundraising, serving pre-game meals, helping at banquets, making phone call, helping with football programs!! Not getting decent coaches fired

Coach Mata did play at Whittier! He played for Ray Cooper who at the time was the head coach. He was on the Whitmonte League Championship team 89-90.

Coach Cooper helped Joey at Pioneer? I did not realize that. Cooper is the most successful head coach Whittier has had over the past couple of decades. It is no surprise that Coach Mata has been more relaxed then; when your team is well prepared you may have more of a tendency to relax.

Assistant coaches can really make a difference, especially if they were good "Head Coaches" in their past.

I hear Saldana is at Whittier.

to "Sport Fans Original" I never mentioned my sons going to the best program in the world nor Whittier being the worst program in the world. I certainly never bashed her sons. Nick was a great kid growing up. There is nothing to bash. Whoever wrote that blog should be spending time in a reading comprehension course.

I do not even know coach Flores but I do know it was parents who got invoved and had the administration ask him to resign.

You mentioned the name Longo. You slipped. Longo has been closely associated with Whittier for years and obviously you have too. Are you in close with Hickey too. I would bet you are.

When the Longo's had children in Whittier Pony (nick?????) they were closely involved with influencing Whittier High. Word gets around. So by mentioning Longo does that mean that the Longo's continue to be influential to Whittier athletics?

You still make no sense and talk in circles and crazy puzzles.

And the CIF supports multi sport athletes? Is that why they just (1 year ago) passed the "year round sports" rule? That new rule makes it more difficult to be a multi-sport athlete.

one more thing "On the Wing": You are patting yourself on your back for over thirty years of supporting the kids so they can be heard. Maybe you should get out of your little "self righteous" world, stop patting yourself on the back,and visit pony fields, njb courts,and other areas of recreation and look for older brothers who played at Whittier and listen to what they have to say. You need to be enlightened with the truth. Not just the way you and the longos see it.

It seems you have greatly limited your environment and have become out of touch with the big picture.

You are so confident you even tell bloggers your name (or your sidekicks in submediocrity). I recognize that name: "Longo" the parents of previous athletes at Whittier High (I think).

Keep it up. Oh by the way, maybe you parents over at Whittier should ask the security guards if any of them can coach baseball. That would make the big 3: football, basketball and baseball. "Triple Crown at Whittier High School". If you are lucky maybe that
good track coach will quit, or maybe the pepster teacher. Is there a female security guard at Whittier. If not, "Longo help your teenage sisters" get a female security guard hired so she can coach the pepsters.

Outside your little powerful world at WHS, people think it is a joke. The only school in a large surrounding area that makes a point to not hire teachers and listen to parents like yourself who get power out of firing decent coaches.
And for your information, Boosters are to "boost" the program with funding and support coaches. Not have them fired. Three good coaches have left Whittier in the last year because "power people" like yourself have no idea. It is three coaches in three years.

You must have no idea what goes on at other schools. That is why they beat you. Teachers teaching sports.

I spoke to local Athletic director the other day and the word is no coach at Whittier High School wants the Athletic Director job because of what is going on.

High school is for the kids..not for you.
You mentioned "rapport" with teachers and faculty. But what about a great program turned quickly into a very below average one. Stay focused. It is obvious that you (and you partner in power) care only about yourselves, not the hundreds of student athletes that deserve better!

Well my kids are older but keep it up so their Alma Mater will continue to beat Whittier in the "big three"

I have never been a booster for Whittier High School. That expains that.

I have never questioned Coach Scott's rapport with parents or whoever. There is much more to coaching than rapport with parents.

Whittier fired two baseball coaches in a row. Coach Varos probably got tired of "Hickey" butting in. You love your power; you and Longo.

I sure am glad that both of my children played at schools that do not favor power people like you and Longo. If parents pulled that _ _ _ _ at our school they would not last in the boosters.

Now you be serious. The focus of my blogs have been the firing of baseball coaches because of parents. The focus has not been Coach Scott.

Hey, if you do not want the student / football athletes at Whittier to win, that is OK with me. We will just keep on beating you when you have as much talent as we do. As a matter of fact, KEEP IT UP!!

on the wing: Apparently you don't know as much as you think you do. Varos being asked to resign was from the school board not the whittier administration. I was at the school board meeting to support another group apparently you werent. some of the things discussed were numerous ethics violations and criminal activities like collecting pay checks for unserpervised classes. purhaps the school board was afraid of a law suit. Plus there seemed to be several people there to speak out against Varos so many that they had to cut them off and not let them all speak. It has been a well known fact that Varos doesn't support kids going out for other sports and discourages it. Which is a violation of c.i.f. conduct read the book. That being said the principle and the administration didn't make the decision the board did the same board that controls cal hi. you act like you know but you don't. By the way why didn't Varos represent his kids at the all league meeting. unheard of lol. Second i don't know much about the baseball program but i know they had a young assistant couch caught dating a girl from the school. And flirting withh her on campus. Doesn't speak highly on the the head coaches assistant coaching decisions. maybe that had something to do with it i don't know. but the coach dating a girl is a fact not a rumor.

You don't feel parents should have a say, yet you just mentioned dropping Coach Scott. For someone who's been involved in Boosters, I find it extremely odd that you don't know Coach Scott! Let me fill you in on a lil something, because of Coach Scott's rapport with the Facutly, Staff and Students...frankly he doesn't need to kiss anyone's _____!

Parents like you, only sign-up for Boosters to be selective in what they "BOOST". If you're so adamant about parents being less powerful, why would you even being involved at the school. Stay home...read a book, take some writing courses!

I've been involved in this community for over 30 years...and I do the things I do, to make certain that our kids are being heard. The kids in this community are what keep me going!

I am a parent of athletes. Whittier baseball = 3 coaches in three years. Why? I am a parent, I know plenty about booster clubs because I have been a part of them in many different situations such as football, basketball and baseball. And a lot of parents do not know their ___ from their elbow!! What I have to say is based upon experience, not just out of my head thoughts. I have sat in the middle of it all for years.
Some parents just "get off" on having that form of power.

Some parents complain. Some do not. Some realize the coach is doing as well as he could. The problem is that some parents have "power" over the school. And of course some realize the coach does not deserve to be.

Well, I believe if they wanted power over the school they should have been teachers and coaches! They had their chance.

Many of the baseball players liked the previous two coaches. But because of a couple of parents these guys are gone and the SENIORS next year get the third coach in three years. HAVE YOU EVER TRIED COACHING AT THIS LEVEL? DO YOU THINK IT IS EASY? We have parents that never played a college game in their life having experienced baseball people fired. RIDICULOUS!!

Once the parents have so much power, the school does not! It is like a "change of guard". A power change. I believe the power should stay within the school. That is all. And I respect the Administrations, like at Cal-Hi, that do not immediately make BIG changes at the request of a couple of parents. They have guts. Even when 500 parents showed up at the district board meeting to retain Coach Dusan Ancich, the school still let him go as football coach. That is guts. That is a principal and his or her staff believing in themselves and not being influenced too much by outside sources. I respect that. Who is in charge anyway? Those administrators know that once you give the power to outside sources it will be tough to retain it again.

Can anyone walk into a business and tell the owner they want something done?

If the coach is terrible, for any reason, then have him fired. But that is not the case at Whittier.

As for Coach Scott. I have heard he is a great guy. He must be to retain his position. (or does his kiss certain people's ___?) But after watching Whittier football here and there through the years, I just know that seldom do they reach their potential.

And, I place WINNING as important. I have seen that winning teaches more than losing or mediocrity. There are so many athletes partipating in football that should get a chance to Win. Whittier has not done so since Scott's taken over the program about 15 years ago. That is long enough. Open the job, Get someone with winning experience, or someone who played in college, hire him and see what happens. THE KIDS DO NOT KNOW IT BUT THEY DESERVE IT! Before Scott, Whittier's football program was excellent.

It is too bad that a few parents have so much power over a principal. I feel sorry for those baseball players at Whittier.

Some principals do what parents tell them to do, others do not. In basketball one (only one) very important father had influence.

Take Cal-hi for example. Nieto has had his problems along the way with several parents through the years. But the administration at Cal-Hi sticks with their coach. THEY ARE LOYAL TO THE COACH WHO IS LOYAL TO CALHI AND HIS OWN SYSTEM, SOMETIMES RIGHT AND AT TIMES MAYBE SHAKY. But they do not ask him to resign because a couple of parents disagree.

And it seems to have paid off a bit. Can you imagine the guessing and anxiety the next baseball coach will have. The two previous coaches (two years in a row)have been let go because of parents (I do not care what you have heard!! It is the result of the parents influencing the Principal or the administration. But in actuality it all comes down to the principal). Now.... the football parents seem to love Scott (or the parents that have power with the administration) but the program has done nothing with considerable talent.

Administrators: I always thought high school was for the kids. I heard the baseballers at Whittier liked their last two coaches. DONT RUIN IT FOR THEM. FOR MANY OF THESE BALLPLAYERS, BASEBALL AND THE TEAM IS THE BEST THING ABOUT HIGH SCHOOL!! I know because I have lived it and I have children.

If this was a better cared for sports institution many parents that approved of the coach would not be confined by their shells but get up and voice their opinion in support of their coach.

Mata works at Whittier as a security guard. Sure he would like to work and coach at the same school.

Filling Mike's shoes will be a challenge.

Wait for the first instant that a parent does not like whats going on! Ask first year baseball coach Flores; kids buy in and they have a avaerage building season and make great strides. Parents get in the way and administration gives in and the first year coach is out (probably his own call).

Great choice- Coach Mata will do a good job at Whittier-but first he has to clean up after the mess that Varos left- first of all he has to change the reputation that Whittier was a dirty cheap shot team. It will be refreshing to have Whittier play the game the right way and win with class- thats something that was totally lacking during the Varos years-good luck coach im sure you will win with class.

WOW!!! Mata coaching at whittier, for the past couple of years whs and pioneer have became heated rivals and actually fought number of times. Im suprised to see that Mata left pioneer
