online?
Thanks in advance
shut up sports fan original, what do you know about baseball.
Anonymous: who is comparing Palacios to Encinas. Encinas has a "big league" arm and Palacios is a fast, agile outfielder and a really good hitter.
The games I saw versus Bishop you guys could have used Palacios at the plate.
No one is more important to a team than a great pitcher. Without him you guys would barely be above average.
The last anon. poster does not speak for all of us at SP.
Ronnie is a great talent as is Gabe. Both will do well at the next level.
we from St. Paul dont agree with you on anything sport fan original. Palacios, you cant compare him to Encinas. come on he went to pioneer. because he was afraid of competing with Encinas. But if Ron would of went to lowly WCHS than nothing would of matter, right.
St Paul will ease your pain, lets fill the stands. Where do all the talent,....end up????
I liked Palacios, but I do recall Montoya had some huge game important home runs early in league
Only my personal perception; I saw Ronnie P. when he competed against El Rancho great talent. I also attended two of his other games. What is the saying “the kid is worth the price of admission”. Like I have stated before, not taking anything away from another kid. I truly hope we keep hearing and reading progress reports on Ronnie. Because talent wise there is no reason for him not to continue with baseball or football. Pioneer you have a great alum.
Del Rio deserves at least a couple all CIF's. I like Palacio. Anybody know his next move to play baseball?
Gamer, I know a lot of people think your way; that the League MVP has to come from the first place team. I look at it in another way. I say that it should be the player that, if I was drafting a team from all the players in the league and I have the first pick, he would be my first pick. Just look in Max Preps and see where the players fall in all of the catagories. It should be the player with the best talent, not how his team did. How many MLB MVP's come from the winner of the World Series? Gamer, would you honestly take Branden Montoya first over Ronnie Palacios? I think El Rancho and Sports Fan Original have it correct.
Ronnie palacios best player maybe. But MVP can't go to a player on a team that goes 3-12 in league. Its never gonna happen. He's not the first good player that didn't get this award because his team didn't do well. The MVP for as long as i've ever known in any league has been someone that team makes the play offs. With out him whats the worst that can happen 0-15? They almost did that anyway. That being said he had a great year and deserved first team and had his team won a few more games then he would be MVP. He was also Offensive Player of the Year as a junior in football on a bad team. Getting that award on a bad year and as a junior is a lot of respect. Good athlete.
I robustly concur sport fan original, Ronnie Palacios MVP, He was my pick. I think the scouts are going to agree on his overall talent. However, congrats, to Branden Montoya. I am sure it was an intricate decision. I am glad the choice was not my to make.
What's up with the CIF coaches? Not a single DRL player even made second team All-CIF. No Palacios? Or Montoya, Burke, Fuentes or Sanchez? Granted, DRL was down a bit this year, but for example, La Quinta's Michael Hill, a good pitcher from Whittier, made first team. LS racked him for ten hits in their CIF win; definitely not as good as Burke on the hill. Common guys! DRL is the Rodney Dangerfield of the local leagues- no respect I tell ya.
Athlete of the year! “Pedro De Alba “enormous year El Rancho. From the Coach and eight straight league titles wow! Good luck next year at the Ranch Harsharger, Herrera, and Rodriguez. Senior Daniel King, Ariet Angeles peace is with you on furthering your education.
Del Rio League MVP -- Branden Montoya, La Serna, senior, catcher.
Del Rio League Most Outstanding Pitcher -- Ben Burke, La Serna, senior.
Ronnie Palacios was a first-team selection as an outfielder.
does anyone know who was the Del Rio League Baseball MVP? Palacios is my pick
Old Mutt I agree Francisco Fuentes is a talent. I am not sure how the section procedure works. Nevertheless, we at El Rancho know of his ability first hand. This young kid can and should play at the next level. Good luck Kid!
Big “congrats” Gladney- awesome volleyball player and person. Good luck son and take care of business, you will rock the world. Congratulations, ER senior Gabriel Franco and Anthony Ayala first team all area. Special thanks to senior Eric Gonzalez, good luck my man!! Mr. Anthony Ayala we know you are going to make us proud on the football field. Kid, make your own history it will stay with you forever.
I understand that they were at the 2 schools that were stated. How did they end up at ER?
I can not believe Daniel Enriquez made first team All Area over Francisco Fuentes. Who votes for these guys? Did anyone think to look in Max Preps? Fuentes is listed 9th, in CIF SS Div III, in batting average and on base percentage; Enriquez is listed 37th and 47th respectively. Fuentes is also 41 spots ahead of him in slugging percentage and 54 spots in front in RBI. The only person ahead of Fuentes in Del Rio League is Ronnie Palacios in all offencive catagories. C'mon!!!
anonymous you are correct, german and roland are transfers. both kids are good.
Both German Ramirez and Roland Hernandez started for the ER Baseball team, I hope to see them under the lights this coming fall...
German Ramirez, i thought he was at St. Paul what happened? Also wasnt Roland at St. John Bosco?
Very proud of you Marilyn Toriz / Desiree Villegas. we'll miss you. Good thing Katherine Flores & Karla Pereira will be back!........... Till next year.
where are the 2nd team and honorable mention ?
Mr. Murray great article on SP’s pitcher, I hope the best for him. I would like to say congratulations “German Ramirez” from El Rancho first team all area. Honorable Mention; Roland Hernandez, Esteban Soto good job guys.
