Way to go oilers. 1-3, that sounds about right. It doesn't look like Coach G is the great almighty like everyone thought. He is doing no better than the last coach, and at least the other guy and his staff didn't rub the whole world the wrong way. "Attitude reflects leadership, captain." Great Hire Mr. Schwartz!!!

To Mr,Mrs,or Ms.Truth
what's your point in saying that SP is a Mexican school? The truth is... you probably didn't even graduate from college or high school. Your head is so far up your a...s you just can't acknowlege diversity.
This So Ca. not the South prior to the 70's. I was at the Garfield game and the Swordsman played a whole different game than they did the previous week. Continue building on your success. Great job! and good luck.

Is that the only way Cal can win it? With the other teams down? Have an idea.

Mazzotta would never embarrass his alma mater- so there will never be a game. Please stop trying to include La Habra in all your drama...we do not operate like most of you.

A bit of advice - just focus on your mess - no need to
spread it around.

you fools are to into you're selves. bring it, operate in fear like most of you!!!!!!!!

You Cal Hi people are sure talking loud when you lost so many starters from last year. I'm sure the Del Rio league will have lots to say about that. Santa Fe will have lots to say, El Rancho just took down West Covina I would not count them out either.

SP,
Do you really think that people on this blog can call the Athletic Director's from other schools and schedule Saint Paul? Who do you think reads and writes this stuff? You just got beat at home by La Mirada. I think the time for "chest pounding" on the blog is over. The freshman team is small in numbers because nobody wants to go there anymore. Do you really think that a offense from the seventies is going to influence someone to go there? SP will steal some good players from other programs but that won't create any growth of your program from within. Remember when you won the CIF your best players were tranfers and that won't change. Your best players in baseball are also transfers. Enough said.

Everyone needs to calm down it was only week one. The question was, did SP battle? did they play a great school? Fans those are the issues. Unfortanetly SP is in for a very long season. SP has always dominated the preseason games under Ancich and Gonzalez. All the bad mouthing and pointing finger is pointless.

I personally felt like the kids didn't even look prepared. The game plan absouletly fall apart.

The issues are real and very tough for SP.

Whoever you are kid, your an idiot! 10-0, that's just plain stupid. I doubt this team has that talent, especially if the injury bug bites you in your A$$. La Mirada might have something to say about it & I'm sure Santa Fe & the rest of the Del Rio will.

Stop making stupid comments you moron, they make you & your school look foolish. Just get ready for Rowland punk!

Don Keydick said: "You have a D1 quarterback that can change the game if you let him."

Paul has talent, but he doesn't know how to handle his players and he doesn't understand how to control the huddle. As the leader of the team he needs to take accountability instead of yelling at players and pointing fingers at everyone but himself. Without the calm and collected leader, the team goes nowhere. Face it, Lopez gave a subpar effort and got no help from Williams or any other of their very few weapons.
And as for the Barr bashers, she's changing the structure of the school. That's what everybody wanted and that's what they got. She removed the cancer that was Pete and his goons and brought back Old Man Marijon to be the face of the program once again. So what, one loss and Barr should be fired? This is exactly why SP gets bashed by the surrounding area schools. I am an SP supporter and graduated from SP, but I am also a realist and I see why people think the school is a joke. It's due to the poor representation you SP bloggers give on this thing. Get your acts together. Good luck to SP against Garfield this friday. Should be interesting.

Friendlyhills,

Although SPHS football team may be going through a transitional year and prehaps this year will be rough for us, remember we had a 4-6 record last year and we are trying to redirect our mission here. That being said, our future looks good, the freshman team although small in numbers has talent, size, and football smarts. I also happen to know most of those kids are in honor classes as one of them is my son. So don't be quick to judge who a deliquent is or isn't.

About La Habra, or La Serna, or Santa Fe, and even Montebello HS, these are fine programs and their communities should be proud ot their teams. But I would imagine this would be the right time to plays us when we are down and crashing as most of you say we are. So have your Athletic Director call ours and schedule the game, or are you afraid our deliquents will be to much for your team???

Be real here people, SPHS and La Habra are the only schools that have won a CIF Title in the last five years. Our team will return and make us proud regardless of your evil thoughts.

Although I'm a SP parent, good job to LaMirada. I hope you bring your fast receiver (Matta) and big line to LaHabra and shut them up a little.

It only makes sense that these local high schools should have good teams. Look at the good talent they have to pick from. All these cities have active jr football leagues and they benefit from that.

I'm disappointed to hear that Ancich ran his usual, boring, running game. I was hoping his coaching assistants would have more influence over his style. Ho, Hum. When is baseball season beginning?

As for jumping on Barr it would be my pleasure. She is to blame for all the garbage thats going on at the school. Get a grip on life.
As for the D1 qb, no doubt he will be playing somewhere next year. He's a good kid thats actually very quiet. You must not know him. The kids respond to him very well. It's just the coach who has no clue. Go ask Willig what he thinks of Paulie. He knows all about talent.

The truth!!!!

The school is still not clean, the teachers still with no degree. I guess re-sodding the football field is more important than education, or having a clean restroom available for young kids. Wow is St.Paul in Mexico? Only a parent who doesn't have a cue about education will consider sending their kid to SP. God help us.

The egg is on your face so stop trying to pass it elswhere! Have a great year with your beloved Ancich at the helm and watch them try to scratch and crawl for their only win of the year against Pioneer. P.S. If you want her to resign might as well have him and that playbook resign too!!

The Highlander's are good!!!!

La Mirada dose not even have a chance. La habra defensive line is so fast- the DB'S are tough. The offensive line could not be broken- they literally pushed our guys back. My son has a lot of respect for that team. He was exhausted.

I wish La Habra would play SP and crush all those deliquents.....

What a game played by our beloved Dons. Reminded me of those scrappy ER teams of old. The Dons absolutely outhit and out hustled West Covina on Friday night. Josh Perea absolutely took control of this game, if he had to make a throw he made it, if he had to put his head down and run he did it. RB Art Franco and Josh Lopez absolutely ran their butts off thanks to a fantastic game by ER's O Line. Great job Dons, I hope the rest of the league keeps doubting us.

sports fan original said:

I believe La Mirada is a very good team as I predicted they would be towards the end of last year! A very active coaching staff led by La Mirada alumnus and University of Colorado quarterback Muschetti.

Supporting cast of coaches is strong with very experience Brooks (defensive coordinator for decades under John Mele during the great years), Cardona (the line coach under Mele) and Rudiger, a great athlete at La Mirada in the 90's and a Stanford scholarship athlete!

But it may be the "motivation" they give the players that is their "highest quality"!!

St. Paul == the score was very kind compared to the way they beat on you!

We can't just blame the coach without giving some credit to Ms. Barr. As our foolsball team suffers so should you. It's to bad that you weren't there to see it. You were watching your future meal ticket do his thing. That's a nice option to have because the decision's you make. You will need it. Just do us all a favor and fire yourself! Turn in a letter to your school mailbox and resign!
We might as well make Morales the principal too. At least he will do what's best for the school.
