I follow high school sports and to me this situation is one of the "MOST INTRIGING SITUATIONS" in the area. Another situation I felt was very intriging was the St. Paul advancing very far into the baseball playoffs in Division V. That is why I blogged so often on the situation last spring. That is why I predicted they would not reach the Semi's after moving up to Division IV. La Serna Basketball is another. Clean up every year in league but terrible CIF Performance.

I just cannot understand why Whittier Supporters will not just answer the question. They continue to ELUDE it!!! Lucy, please be "honest" and answer it.

Coach Scott is very lucky to have a booster club behind him so much. He must be a great person for all the parents who take part in the program to respect him so much and not want to lose him!! I respect that a lot!

Most programs in your situation would want a change. That is what I believe anyway. The reason I believe this is because Whittier was a "great program" before Coach Scott took over. I believe they won three league championships in five years and went to the SemiFinals and CIF Championship in consecutive seasons; Coach Fitch's last two seasons there.

That must have been a great staff!! Why? I know some of you do not want to hear it because Fitch was a "big mouth"! And, I believe at times he made some ridiculous comments to his team.

BUT, THIS IS FACT: All (most of the important ones, except Coach Scott) of his Assistant Coaches left Whittier with him and went to Mayfair. There they took over a Mayfair program that was far below average, winning maybe 3 or 4 games a season. In three seasons under Fitch's direction Mayfair won a CIF Championship!! Then they won another (or maybe two more). His teams recently have not done much in the playoffs.

I have noticed over the past couple of months that SOME of the St. Paul bloggers have been posting some positive & informative information. Anonymous, you are the exception. Congratulations are in order for the Condors. They had a tremendous season, unfortunately, they played a strong Charter Oak team which simply outgunned them. Were they outcoached? Perhaps--but only by the fact that the Condors never developed their passing attack throughout the season. The superb running of Jones--behind a quality full back (Alexander) and a big, talented O-Line, appeared to have lulled the Condor coaching staff into thinking that a one-dimensional attack could carry them through the play offs. It worked in their march for Del Rio league title, but was lacking when play off time came around. A ground oriented offense, with few exceptions--will simply not be effective in the next level. The only teams that can win championships with a one-dimensional offense are those teams which have incredibly strong defenses so as to prevent an opponent's offense from scoring in droves and getting into an offensive "shoot out."

We have a opening next year because LM doesn't want to play us, so Cal put us on your schedule next season?

If you followed local football you would understand that Charter Oak football is a CIF POWERHOUSE. NOTHING LESS. For Cal to play so well for more than half the game is a tribute to them. Charter Oak is similar to a "La Habra Football Team, TOTALLY DOMINANT OVER THE TEAMS IN THEIR DIVISION.

When a team, no matter what the sport, reaches the SEMI'S, they were among the top 4 teams in a division of over 30 schools!! You have no idea!!

Charter Oak played around with Cal Hi knowing it was only Jones, it was just a matter of time CO would blow them out, a compete dominance. Adam Muema a whole other level. Cal was out coached, out hit, out hustle, out match. Even with 30 seniors on Cal’s team, they were out man.

Now it's time to clean house, the coaches couldn't give our kids any leadership no direction. the er guys have to go. Bring coach Jim .P back.

Guess everyone can see why you posted under "Anonymous"!?! Really--that was totally unnecessary and just plain ridiculous! And making cowardly comments like that, it's easy to see why you wouldn't want to identify yourself in any way!

Cal did have a good season--ended in semis, just like when my son played at Cal. They played a better team but went full out and lost. There's no shame in that! Of course, I would have liked to have seen my son win a CIF Championship too, just like this year's parents--but it didn't happen. That's why it's special--just not everyone can get that ring! They did not let down the whole community--and I would hesitate to guess that NO ONE would care if you felt let down since you are despicable to speak about young student athletes like that!

no excuses! Cal showed their true colors tonight. Yellow..as in yellowback...they played scared. They were out coached, out played, and out of town before the kick off. Never have I witnessed such a disaster. Well maybe a st. paul game...que verguenza to say you are a cal hi supporter. if you aren't going to show up during the playoffs why even bother playing during the season.
