Is it Time to be Concerned
We're only two weeks into the season and the area's baseball preseason top 5 are struggling.
Is it me or are those teams taking a beating in the nonleague schedule. Granted, the top 5 is playing against some stiff competition but not one owns a winning record at this point. Is it time to panic? Were these teams overrated or are they going to bounce back once league gets going?
Here is the Preseason Top 5 along with respective records heading into Wednesday morning.
1. St. Paul (3-4)
2. La Mirada (3-3)
3. California (3-3)
4. La Serna (3-3-1)
5. La Habra (3-4)

i really don't understand why the Del Rio league hates on St. Paul. Look at the difference in the competition that SP is playing and what the Del Rio league teams play. are they jealous or something? because whenever St. Paul plays teams from the Del Rio league they always win, no matter how good they play. By the way, for all the people who think they Del Rey league is weak, I bet that the 4th place team in the Del Rey would win the Del Rio league.
SO BECAUSE YOU ST PAUL;
Play a team or schools that are better than you makes you better, and the ghetto just go's away. WoW I guess every school should just schedule a college Ivy league school and we can all feel better.
For being ghetto SP Cal Hi, we sure play better competition then u guys. For our league being weak, theres only one team that shouldn't be there and thats Cantwell. other than that, Del Rio league is weak and always has been. the best teams are Cal Hi and La Serna. SP would sweep up that league if they were in it.
because your ghetto Sp what do you accept
St. Paul will not win league. They don't have the offense. The only reason they make league is because their league stinks!
what a joke! how is sp that low? look who sp has played.they have played 3 trinity league teams, which is arguably one of the best leagues on so cal. also, they have played capo valley, who was ranked #7 in the nation by baseball america. on top of that, they played foothill and Esperanza who are far from bad too.c'mon man.
First of all, what is your logic for dropping SP to #4? I can buy La Mirada at #1. Both St. Paul and La Mirada have played a higher level of competition and have fared pretty well against it.
La Mirada - worst loss was to Lakewood. Tabbed by some as the #1 team in the NATION. They have played no pushovers.
St. Paul - Have played games against 5 D1 teams and beat 3 of them and beat the one D3 team they played.
St. Paul and La Mirada have yet to play their best ball. Now with league play coming up they both can get by with 2 pitchers and will both do well.
Cal Hi, La Serna and La Habra have all played some tough teams as well. La Habra needs a consistent 2nd arm and could struggle agains Fullerton and Sonora.
I don't think any of these teams were overrated nor is it time to panic. I think you will see these teams get on a roll come league.
El Rancho should have been in your top 5...
