Over the last week, I've surveyed six Del Rio League baseball head and assistant coaches to get their opinions about both El Rancho and Santa Fe.
We have a big day of games listed here. Hopefully, there will be some decent crowds.
There are two locals on the ballots - Tampa Bay third baseman Evan Longoria (Rio Hondo College) and New York Mets catcher Rod Barajas (Santa Fe High School).

Former La Mirada High School linebacker Jack Francis recently signed a letter of intent to attend Idaho State University of the Big Sky Conference and NCAA Division 1 Subdivision (formerly 1-AA).
Montebello High School football coach Pete Gonzalez took some time out of his busy schedule to sit down with the paper on Wednesday afternoon and discuss the Oilers upcoming 2010 schedule.

It wasn't even that close at Saturday evening's 6th annual Sargent's Sporting Goods East vs. West All-Star boys basketball game at Whittier College as the East side went up by as many as 31 points before cruising to an 89-75 win.
The 6th annual Sargent's Sporting Goods East vs. West All-Star girls basketball game at Whittier College was a pretty entertaining affair won by the East side 68-65.
I'll be the first to admit that these rosters are WAY overdue but I've been working with the fine folks over at Sargent's and this is what they gave me.
As far as game info goes, the girls all-star game is set for 4 p.m. on Saturday at Whittier College while the boys game is slated for 6:30 p.m.
Gates open at 3 p.m. and admission is $10 while children 5 and under are free.
I had hoped to walk away convinced from Thursday's championship game of the St. Paul Tournament of who was definitely the area's best team.

St. Paul baseball coach Casey Morales said Monday's second-round action of the St. Paul Tournament has been postponed until Tuesday because of inclement weather.
