Over the Weekend...Rio Hondo College makes history
There's a first time for everything and that includes making history.
Over the weekend, the Rio Hondo College baseball team swept its way through the Santa Ana College Southern California Super Regional Tournament and clinched its first-ever berth in this weekend's CCCAA State Tournament Final Four at Fresno City College.
Rio Hondo punched its ticket via a 7-6 win over underdog Cuesta College on Sunday morning's title game.
Overall, the Roadrunners have won five straight postseason games and head into the tournament as SoCal's No. 2 seed behind No. 1 El Camino College.
Congratulations to Rio Hondo and good luck at state.
