Remembering a Fallen Condor
A few weeks back, the paper ran a small report about the death of a 20-year-old Whittier resident on the 91 Freeway. The person killed was former Condor football player Quinn Luckett.
Over the last two weeks, the California boosters have been putting together an effort to best remember Luckett by establishing a memorial scholarship.
Boosters president Lynne Beyer and Quinn's mother Sherry have joined to create a scholarship fund in Quinn's honor that will be awarded to a Cal-Hi football player on each level at the end of the season.
"In lieu of flowers, Sherry was asking that donors contribute to the scholarship fund," Beyer said. "We'd like to recognize a player on each level that embodies Quinn's memory as a determined, dedicated and well-rounded person."
