i agree with teeks m8, there isnt really an age limit for protein shakes sum1 has been lying! bassicly i think if you are over the age of 13 which you probably are to be able to have a yahoo answers account then i would say go 4 it!! i wud go for a less professional brand tho, something simple like whey protein , i woudnt go fot the hardcore stuff with added crap in it like cronium, and fortified vitamins, and amino acids etc.. gd luck x

Adam is such a good fit for Schurr. Ive known him for many years, and the guy lives and breathes baseball. He is also the kind of guy that can develop talent. Finally, we have a real baseball guy up at Schurr.

And even though Im a Schurr guy, Ive heard nothing but good things about Montebello's coach. Hopefully Adam's hire will bring up the level of play in the area, not just at Schurr. The kids deserve it.

Adam Millan can do all the coaching he wants, but without talent Schurr will not go anywhere. The school is designed for mediocre coaches like Marrero. Adam has no buisness at Schurr. Its like Lebron James coming to the Clippers.

I wish he was around when I was playing- I couldnt hit a lick, he would of done a number on me..I still wore my Letterman jacket like I was a star, and often told everyone I knew adam, but man I totally tanked in Baseball. Adam you were good but I had all the girls.

Yup..i remember Ray Perez.. He was a teammate of mine. I believe he was 3 Time MVP.

hector i know what you mean...I played against a tough Schurr team in the 90s and i thought they had some bashers in that team, particularly this guy by the name of Ray Perez. I wouldnt be surprised if he also played Pro Ball. I heard he tought his younger brother ,G Perez, how to play the game the right way. Ray would be an awsome batting instructor for Schurr High School..

Is it just me or the league is so water down. I remember it was called the Foothill league when I was playing at Alhambra. Man it was tough, playing vs Hart high school is not the same as playing Mark Keppel or Montebello h.s. I know the current players at Schurr would not stand a chance playing in my time when Hart had #1 draft pick and Stanford ace Andrew Lorraine, San Gabriel had triple A and Dodger's Dan Ricabal, Bourroughs had #1 draft from A's fireballer Mike Rossiter. No wonder my high school never had a chance, and to top it off we face the lefty and former Dodger's and Mexico city Red Devils from Schurr G. Perez with his nasty slider and forkball.. All played minor league ball. And all played with or against Adam Millan. Competition has declined and stats of hitters have gone up because the league really sucks. I would feel embarrassed naming the schools in the Almont league. It even sounds weak.

Wow, great pick up. But why Schurr? a guy with that much knoledge should be coaching at a real Baseball School. Unless he wants to get his foot in, almost like a one-and-done. Like what Andy Nieto did at Cantwell. Im happy for him and the School, Im a former San Gabriel Matador and remember playing against Adam seeing him work his pitchers such as John Silva and George Perez- he made those pitchers reach back from within and exelled because of Adam.

I have known Adam since he was 11 yrs old playing at Saybrook in east los Angeles. And one thing I remember about him was his leadership and his hard work. Schurr has always had talent from the days of tony nieto, Joe cypert, george perez, hubert davis and john silva but the program was never funded for tournaments to get recognition. And no one to mold the talent. Marrero was.
No more than a C plus coach. Adam will fix that, and Schurr athletic program must keep him happy because this is the last hope.

adam millan is my coach, and he's doing a great job at schurr. he is bringing the great change and a much needed turn around to our club. if you live in the montebello area , come to schurr cause Adam Millanand schurr baseball is the real deal

Montebello baseball will never be "Keppelish"!

Being a huge believer that coaching at all levels greatly affects the success or lack of success of the players. Very good coaches help players play up to their potential as athletes. "Whittier Baseball" might not feel the same way, but I think if a little research is done, we may realize.

Phil Jackson with the Lakers, Muschetti at LM football, Coach Carroll at USC, Fitzsimons at Villa Park, the new guy at Santa Fe Baseball, Salazar at Rio Hondo Baseball, the loss of John Scolinos at Cal Poly Pomona, change at Santa Fe baseball, and uncountable more. Oh, one more, loss of Wooden at UCLA.

Adam Millan!

Congrats to Schurr . This is no doubt a great hire for the school. Anyone who says anything bad about this guy just don't know baseball. He will bring a lot of experience and will do a great job as head coach. He will teach the kids the right way to play the game and will never be outcoached. We are behind you brother.....

Millan is such a good hire by Schurr. I have personally gotten to speak to him a few times and the guy is so down to earth. A great baseball mind who will do a great job at Schurr. If I had a son in the area going into high school I would no doubt send him to Millan instead of Montebello. Good luck coach

Who is to say that the addition of Coach Millan won't cahange the tide, and send kids from MHS to SHS? That is exactly what SHS needed. A new coach. Than what will happen? MHS will be the next Keppel? OOPS, sorry.... they will always have water polo.

I agree with the assements of the playing field. But truth be told, if anybody is to blame it would have to be M.U.S.D. and the administration at S.H.S. The baseball field is not inclosed due to the "lack of funds", thus every team in MTB. and M.P. use it as there own practice facility. Not to mention that neighborhood residents use it as their dog park. I also agree that Schurr has had its share of talent, that was never developed. The baseball program did get what it needed most, new blood with fresh ideas and plenty of energy...GOOD LUCK to the Spartans and Coach Millan.

A new coach with that kind of experience can make a hugh difference. Will he relate to players if the question?

Its good to see a former spartan come back to the school and work with the players. Schurr has not been very good in the past but i believe that's all going to change. Schurr always has good talented players now with the right developement and direction they can be a very succesful team in the area. No pressure on the new coach anything better than last year is a plus.

They're still gonna suck. If your a half way decent baseball player then you go to Montebello High. Everyone in the city knows that. Football players go to Schurr, Baseball players go to MHS. and Yes, Their field is BRUTAL!!! One of the worst. What the hell were you doing Marerro? Oh yeah...nothing besides leaving early every day and taking a bunch of fridays off. SLACKER. Way to run "your" program into the ground.

Schurr has definitely hired the right guy for the job. Millan is a local guy who played at Schurr, Cerritos, Cal State Fullerton and the Philadelphia Phillies organization. He was part of Bishop Amat's staff that recently won back to back CIF titles and also coached at ELAC. Millan will bring a lot of enthusiasm to the Schurr baseball program. Look for the Spartans to be Almont League contenders real soon.

He's a brave soul for taking over that program. It's a school that only cares about football and baseball and all the other sports are an after thought. He's going to need a lot of energy and effort to make anything with that program and that terrible facility.
