Yes people have asked what happened to all the whites every time I go back to La Serna. But we joke about it and no one takes it seriously because we all grew up together and we are all friends. I do not care what color or race a player is. It was meant as a joke, albeit an insensitive one. As a Mexican-American who played football it is a gratifying feeling seeing Hispanic kids play for a successful program such as La Habra. I never meant to imply that there is prejudice in La Habra, just surprising considering demographic trends in the surrounding areas. I have been to Mater Dei and Mission Viejo games and have heard many prejudice things in the stands said about the growing number of Hispanic kids on their teams. I've been to Santa Fe games where people ask about the growing number of African Americans on the team over the last several years even though Santa Fe is 85 percent Hispanic, but it was never to imply prejudice was taking place.

Do people come on here and ask "What happened to all the white football players?" No, they are smart enough to know that they are by far outnumbered (population) around here.

Now some jerk comes on here and wants to know about the Mexicans at LH, suggesting there is prejudice going on over there.

WcLancer: There is no perception anywhere that Mexicans do not like to play football. Have'nt you been to a local high school football game in the past 20 years? If they did not like to play football, there would be no football in local schools! Idiot!

From what I see you are not talking to people in Idaho and Michigan , you are talking to people in So Calif, so for you to say where are all the hispanic kids, you know darn well what you meant, you know it would stir up some reaction. We are all proud of the kids from La Habra no matter what the color of their skin is. Go La Habra!!!!

By the way it is a perception to the outside world that Hispanic kids do not like and play football. Though at the end of the day a players race is insignificant, it is important for people and kids to see schools with significant Hispanic populations successful in football, because believe it or not people in Idaho and Michigan believe that soccer is the only sport played even thought out here even in the inner city schools hundreds go out for football and only a handful play soccer

I did not mean to start a race thing. I just noticed that there didn't seem to be many Hispanic kids on the La Habra team considering that the city is more than half Hispanic and have Historically had many outstanding players who happened to be Hispanic. And by the way I am Mexican American and a La Serna grad and I sent my kids to Whittier Christian. Growing up in the East Whittier/La Mirada/La Habra area I know that it is about half and half and many of the kids not even see color in each other just individuals with similar interests.
