Video Takes: St. Paul @ La Mirada (Week 0)
It's on to the final of four video prediction/breakdowns with SGVfootballer Aram Tolegian. In this video, we talk about the season-opening rivalry game between St. Paul and host La Mirada on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Last season, the game was a launching point for La Mirada, which defeated St. Paul for the first time in its history, 15-7. Even though the Matadores were defeated the following week by La Habra, they won the rest of their games that season in clinching the CIF-Southern Section Southern Division crown.
St. Paul briefly rebounded from the loss and won three straight games over L.A. Garfield, Pioneer and Paraclete. Unfortunately for the Swordsmen, they lost their last six games and missed the playoffs for a second straight season.
This game appears to be a mismatch although the Swordsmen do boast a solid offensive line. The unit will need to control the clock to have a chance. La Mirada will need some production from its defensive ends. The Matadores, however, match up well in nearly every aspect for this game.

I ecstatic for the premiere of Facing Kate on January 20th. Who knows what's going to play out...
Burn notice
The 2nd worse team in Saint Paul history barely lost to La Mirada 15-7 in 2009. Of course the Swordsmen were going to win this year...
